Boring!

I was so excited to listen to this and was so disapointed. But it does show how much has changed in 100 years. He wanted to wait until everyone was gone before he let everyone read it so it would not cause problems or offend. But these really big revelations about famous people were so insignificant, by todays standards, that it became very mundane and a chore to listen to.. There were a few parts that I thought were very interesting and gave insight to a much different era, but for the most part it was just plain boring..

Very thought provoking.

My husband recommended this book to me and I got it to please him, but was very glad I did. Although I thought some of the story was a little out dated, most of it would apply now. I was fascinated with the story and the narration was very good. I would defenitely recommend this book.

Believe it or not, the movie was better!

Never read a book where I really felt the movie was better. It was because in listening to this book I didn't like having to try and keep track of all the different times. By the end I hated it and was forcing myself to finish it. Then the movie came out and I actually watched it because I love stories about time travel. The movie wasn't bad at all and I thought was much more enjoyable than the book.

It was entertaining

I didn't think this book was one of Koontz's best, but it was entertaining enough to keep me interested. I did like the narration and was able to finish it without forcing myself. Overall I would recommend this book for those who like Koontz.

Extremely Enjoyable Listen

I hadn't listened to a book in a while and could figure out what kind of book I wanted. I was very glad I picked this one. It was just perfect for me to get back into audio books again. The naration was superb. As I listened I could picture everything. I have seen the movie with James Dean and the mini series years ago, but had never read the book. Of course the book is so much better and gives such insight into the characters. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves to read about people and times of long ago. I will probably listen to it again and again.

Relistening before the series stats in August

Loved it the first time and in some ways even better the second time. Can't wait for the series, and definitely going to listen to the new book.

Incredible

Sometimes hard to listen to because it is a true story of slavery. Love Louis Gossett, Jr. but he is sometimes hard to understand. But overall a very interesting and good listen. I would recommend this book.

Thoroughly Entertaining!

Love this series. The 1st book was great, the second not quite as good, but this 3rd one is wonderfully funny, sad, and exciting. Definitely a must listen.

Easy Listen

I was disappointed in the ending because it leaves you hanging, but other than that I enjoyed listening to it. It's quite funny in places and fun to listen to. I would recommend this book.
