Historia
Relentless phone calls interrupt the peace of a warm August morning in Three Pines. Though the tiny Québec village is impossible to find on any map, someone has managed to track down Armand Gamache, head of homicide at the Sûreté, as he sits with his wife in their back garden. Reine-Marie watches with increasing unease as her husband refuses to pick up, though he clearly knows who is on the other end. When he finally answers, his rage shatters the calm of their quiet Sunday morning.

Like a first draft and disliked reader
Revisado: 11-14-24
I've adored this series and read almost every book twice This book is a disappointment Way too many characters and hard to follow plot Not well edited Narrator's voice may be authentic but the names of places and characters were hard to understand I constantly had to rewind The Eq seemed off so the voice was sibilant and stagy without the beauty and warm undertones of the two previous readers Made it irritating to listen to and the director/editor should have had the narrator pause more between sections As it was the hearer was yanked from Canada to DC and Europe in what seemed like one paragraph and the voices were not differentiated enough to get the jump oWhere was the usual character depth? Beauty? I miss Clara. I hope the former style returns or I'll skip Audible (also a few grammar errors in the opening)

You live in a world that wasn't designed for you. A world where you're expected to sit still, stay quiet, and focus. Because of the way your brain is wired, you can feel like you’re failing at life. But you are not failing. You are awesome. Award-winning content creators Kim and Penn Holderness are on a mission to reboot how we think about the unfortunately named "attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder." As always, they are doing it by looking in the mirror, because they don't just study ADHD; they live it.

Worth it but uncomfortable themes

As always the story is exciting engaging and well performed with predictable events but I was uncomfortable with the sun theme of potential incest and the vengeance of the hero Usually the criminals are the sadidtic ones

Not as good as the usual Aird
Revisado: 06-18-23
Some stories are interesting or funny but several are dull or confusing The Production is awful in that the chapters do not coincide with the start of a new story and there's less than one second pause between stories, adding to the confusion the narrator is not bad but very slow sounds better on 6.2

Great tale gets bland performance
Revisado: 11-09-21
I loved this book years ago but Amy Molloy bleaches all the suspense out of it with slow pacing and unchanging inflection unless she's doing a change of local accent. She also mispronounces a lot including peonies, tomatoes, resentful. Shouldn't the director catch this?
