What made the experience of listening to Love Burns the most enjoyable?

The performance really made the story come alive!

What did you like best about this story?

It had a lot of plot twists and action but ended with a really sweet HEA :)

What about Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott ’s performance did you like?

Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott truly made these characters enjoyable (even when you wanted to throttle them...) And brought the story to life. The way they play off each other is a real treat. Each character is portrayed as an individual, complete with quirks and mannerisms. This was a really fun listen and wrapped up the support very nicely. I can't wait to listen to what they do next!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the title fight! It was amazing :)

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. The first book is Love Hurts. This is the second, and final, book.

Reeling from the loss of one of their own everyone grieves in their own way. From self destructive behavior and recriminations to doubt and depression the characters experience all the stages of grief before finally finding their way to acceptance and moving on with their lives. The amount of growth from all the characters is awe inspiring and makes this book both uplifing and intense. It was a unique experience and I am truly glad I stuck with it :)

***This series is suitable for adult listeners (or readers) who enjoy MMA romantic thriller suspense with plenty of angst and violence as well as some intrigue and two characters who can't seem to get out of their own way most of the time but eventually leading to a HEA :)

What made the experience of listening to Love Hurts the most enjoyable?

Definitely the voice acting by Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott made this experience the most enjoyable :) Even when the characters were being idiots and I wanted to throttle them the actors kept me at rapt attention! The story was really good... But sometimes it was really hard to empathize with the two main characters. With this being an at least two part story I completely understand though. Reading this might have been difficult while listening to it was an experience not to be missed :)

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character to hate was Christiano. He made it so darn easy! Weak and simpering, though self-centered and arrogant, he has to always get a dig in. He thinks Frankie is weak because she has been attacked and swoops in to try and weedle his way back into her life. Thinking she will glom onto him for safety and attention, forgetting why they didn't work in the first place. It was too funny :)

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. This is the first book. I can't wait to listen to Love Burns!

Frankie has grown up with the Loves and has always been the only girl. Well except for Indy. Noone gets more attention or love from the guys (and Indy)! She is THE Princess. The center of all of their worlds. And her life is perfect. She has her dance studio and her family. She even has a steady boyfriend, Andrew, who she lives with. When he proposes (and she says yes) it puts into motion an increasingly destructive sequence of events that spiral out of control until noone knows what will happen next. Why did she say yes? How will it affect the rest of her relationships? Will her life ever be the same?

Deacon has ALWAYS loved Frankie. And been in love with her since he doesn't know when. He has been hiding his time... For him to be ready to settle down. For her to be willing to look at him in another way. For both of their careers to be established. Now that Andrew has proposed he is panicking. He can't let her marry him! Will he be able to convince her to give them a chance? Can he even talk her out of marrying the nowhere near good enough for her douche she's already said yes to? How will he get her to see him? Can he convince her she is not like any other girl he has spent time with?

***This series is suitable for adult listeners (or readers) who enjoy MMA romantic thriller suspense with plenty of angst and violence as well as some intrigue and two characters who can't seem to get out of their own way that leads to more questions than answers with a cliffhanger ending lacking a HEA :)

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes! It was a very entertaining listen filled with mystery, horror, suspense, intrigue and romance :) I really enjoyed it.

What about Eric G. Dove’s performance did you like?

Eric G. Dove is the only voice I could ever imagine for this series! He does better with every consecutive book even though his narration of the first was amazing. He knows the characters inside and out which allows him to convey they myriad emotions and personalities in a very entertaining and believable manner. Tue seamless transition from one book to the next makes it easy to get lost in the world created by his performance and the author's writing. I hope he continues with this series as I am sure he is the only one who can do it proper justice :) I can't wait to listen to more by this talented voice actor!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

We Always Get Our Man (Or Woman)!

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. This contains the first three books in the series. I can't wait to listen to Cold Fear!

This series is filled with strong, independent characters who are driven to find the truth no matter the personal cost. Finding killers, righting wrongs, stopping terrorists, exposing cover-ups are all in a day's work! Humor keeps the stories from being too dark even though the horror and suspense are intense and disturbing. The characters eventually find what they are looking for in a partner and find their requisite HEA but not before an intense action packed thrill ride filled with intrigue and mysteries that are not easy to solve. It will keep you on the edge of you seat and constantly wanting more!

***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy romantic psychological thrillers with loads of suspense, intrigue, action, adventure, horror and a broken hero learning to live again with a few steamy sex scenes :)

What did you love best about Spell/Sword, Book 1?

The incredible writing paired with incredible acting made this listening experience an amazing treat :) I can't wait to listen to the next book and hole the series carries on forever! We need more fantasy like this!

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Jonas because he was so steadfast! He might not always understand what is going on, bug once he has made up his mind there is no changing it! He does the right thing (or at least she HE sees as the right thing) and follows the Code because he is a Squire and noone can take that from him. It has become his being and though he sees the world as it is (as much of it as he understands) he still does what he knows is right in spite of what others do or say to him. It is inspiring that his spirit cannot be broken.

Have you listened to any of Rachel Ahrens’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first performance by Rachel Ahrens I have ever listened to but I look forward to listening to many more by this talented voice actor! She portrays all the characters with depth and irreverence just as they are obviously written. I can't imagine either Rime or Jonas voiced by anyone else. I think I would cry. I fervently hope she continues on with this unique series so we can continue to enjoy it to its full potential :)

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. This is the first book. I can't wait to listen to Riddle Box!

Rime is a wlid mage. Her kind has been searched out and eradicated because of their madness and incredible power. Lucky for her, her father loved her and hid her, all the while educating her and shielding her from her true nature. Too bad she knows she will now be hunted... If only she can get to the Gray Witch and learn the secrets of controlling her magic! She does not want to die or go mad. Does the Gray Witch truly exist? Or is she the false of of a Faerie tale? Will she be able to find her? Can she convince her to help?

Jonas is still at heart a Squire. He loved his Master and took his teachings to heart. No matter what anyone says or does, he will stay true to the Code. So what if he is a bit of a slow learner... At least when he learns something he learns it fully! He longs for a purpose now that he can no longer be a true Squire. Will he ever find anything to give his life meaning? Will the mistakes of his past catch up with him? Can he continue to be true to himself and his Master's teachings when noone else plays fair? Should he quit drinking?

***This series is suitable for middlegrade through adult readers who enjoy irreverent, snarky fantasy filled with comical characters and indomitable antiheroes who eventually learn that they need friends or life is not worth living or even survivable :)

If you could sum up Making Amends in three words, what would they be?

Poignant Dramedy Suspense

Who was your favorite character and why?

Von was my favorite character because, despite all her challenges and failings, she stayed true to herself and tried her best to take care of herself and her loved ones to the best of her abilities. Despite her struggles with addiction she manages to keep her family together through tragedies and severe illness. She is inspiring.

Have you listened to any of Michelle Babb’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was an amazing performance by Michelle Babb! She brought each character to life in blaring color. I felt their pain and fear as well as their happiness and uncertainty. I was sucked into the story so completly I could not stop listening... Even when I was convinced I was not going to like where it led. I truly enjoyed the experience though I don't normally partake of anything near as tragic. She made this well worth the listen :)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was both uplifting and depressing, all the while forshadowing some future tragedy to come... I was riveted from beginning to end!

Any additional comments?

This is a stand alone novel.

Tabby is an addict who was abused and abandoned by her mother to be shuttled around the foster system until she aged out... This did not give her any level of self worth or any skills for coping with reality or responsibility. Verne was no better... Probably worse since he was abusive and an addict as well. Finding out she was pregnant while high on cocaine made Tabby get sober. If only to protect her unborn children. Eventually she became a drunk though, until the fateful day her ex stole Bobby away from her when he was only five. She still had her "sister" Von and his twin Ricky but she alawys grieved Bobby. Missing him consumed her life... Made her be less to Ricky than he deserved. Finding out that Bobby is in Tampa, has killed his father and is under arrest has to be the biggest shock of her life since he was taken from her. Will she be able to have a successful reunion withe her missing boy? Will she be able to make amends? Or is it too late for them all?

***This book is suitable for adult readers who enjoy flawed characters struggling with a painful past and is filled with plenty of drama, horror, suspense, mystery and poignant moments :)

Where does Shattered: The House of Crimson and Clover Book Series Prequel rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

LC Kane's performance always enthralls me. This is one of my favorite audio serieses! The dark southern gothic themes should be out of place on a small Maine island but the author's eloquent writing and the narrator's expressive performance draw you so deeply into the world of this series it is impossible to doubt any facet of the characters' world. I eagerly await each new installment. I have no doubt I will be relistening to this series for years to come!

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the lighthouse scene with Ana and Finn. Everything was perfect!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Being "Gifted" Doesn't Make Life Any Easier... Only Harder.

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. The first *real* book is The Storm And The Darkness. This is the second book. There are ancillary books that may be listened to (or read) at any time but I suggest leaving them for later! I can't wait to listen to The Illusions Of Eventide!

Ana and Finn have found safety and love in each other's arms. Everything should be perfect. John is livid that Ana does not return his feelings and just wants her gone. He is willing to go to almost any lengths to accomplish his goal of forcing Ana away ... From the island, his brother, him. Ana is trying to reconcile her feelings and doubts along with the hurt Nicholas' abandonment has caused. Can she let herself be happy with Finn? Does she even deserve happiness with all the Darkness inside of her? Will Finn decide she is not worth the trouble like all the others? Why can't she be more like her sainted mother?

***This series is suitable for adult listeners (or readers) who enjoy dark paranormal fantasy with Southern Gothic mores and conflicted villians (who hide behind kindness) with touches of romance, family secrets and plenty of thrills, mystery, suspense and horror while still allowing for hope :)

***Not for the closed minded or feint of heart***

Would you listen to Mirrors and Magic again? Why?

Yes! It is an amazing series and I really enjoy each foray into this world. I can't imagine not revisiting each story many times. This was, by far, my favorite installment of this unique series.

Which character – as performed by Hollie Jackson – was your favorite?

Hollie Jackson brought each and every character to life vividly, but I have to say Neve was my favorite character! She grows from a scared little girl, afraid to lose her place with her adopted family, into a strong and vivacious woman at ease with herself and unafraid of anything or anyone :) The accents were truly amazing and the best I have heard so far from any voice actor on Audible! I can't wait to hear what she does next :)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me laugh alot more than I expected it to! The animals were definitely unique characters and good for many laughs.

Any additional comments?

This series does not need to be listened to (or read) in order as it consists of stories just based in the same world and not necessarily connected to each other via plot or storyline. This is the third book written based in this world. I suggest listening to (or reading) Bitter Cold first though (as I did) because it seems to be the first book chronilogically speaking. I can't wait to listen to more!

Neve has lived with the circus for as long as she can remember. She lost her mother when she was very young and her father died in a tragic accident when she was merely 8. That was ten long years ago and now she is afraid her time with her adopted family is almost up. Her guardian, the owner of the circus, has been avoiding her. She has a secret she is reluctant to share with anyone... They might laugh at her... She might be terrible. And, of course, the reigning Queen of the Circus hates her with a passion. Her father was the greatest Illusionist that ever lived and she is not sure that his tragic life ending accident was truly an accident. She does what she can to keep the Circus running smoothly. Feeding animals, helping people prefect their acts, any odd job she can find, even though nothing is expected of her. Will she be able to stay? Or will her gaurdian kick her out after this season? Is the Circus failing? And if so, why? Can she do anything to bring it back to its former glory? Or is it already a lost cause? What really happened to her father? Could a man that talented really kill himself accident? Can she trust Brendan? Why does the reigning Queen have her so? Will she ever live up to her father's legacy?

Would you listen to Blowhard: A Steampunk Fairy Tale again? Why?

Yes. It was a fun listen and took about an hour :) Great distraction for a rainy day! I hope the author writes more stories with Elias as he continues his adventures! I adore the world this story is set in and hope to revisit it again and again! Both new stories and old :)

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blowhard: A Steampunk Fairy Tale?

The Hansel and Gretel moment was totally THE BEST! Hehe

Which character – as performed by Jason Davidson – was your favorite?

Jason Davidson did a good job conveying all the different characters and their personalities but I have to say my favorite character was Elias. He was, by far, the most interesting character! Brave and loyal and unable to be cowed, he was an inspiration both to the reader and all the other protagonists in the book :)

Any additional comments?

This series does not need to be listened to (or read) in order as it consists of stories just based in the same world and not necessarily connected to each other via plot or storyline. This is the first book based in this world. I can't wait to listen to more!

The Hamm brother are trying to make a new life for themselves as pig farmers in Kansas. Far from the city, and all its distractions, getting along is more difficult than ever! Add the pressure of all living in a damp, rotting house filled with mildew, must and mice... How will they survive long enough to thrive? Deciding to build other houses seems to take a bit of pressure off. If only the sinister Otto von Rudolph wasn't pressuring them to sell their claim!
Will they ever learn to get along? Where did the twister coming from in the middle of winter? How is Otto involved? Should they give up and sell?

***This series is suitable for mature young adult through adult listeners (or readers) who enjoy steampunk fantasy fairytales with a dash of horror, romance (though there isn't really any real romance in this particular installment) & plenty of action and adventure :)

What did you love best about Legally Undead?

I loved the snarky attitude of the heroine and the way she refused to back down ever. Instead of being shocked or frozen she was all about action :)

What did you like best about this story?

It was really different from most vampire books and that made it seem almost realistic! It was an engrossing story that sucks you in and makes you think maybe Vampires could exist :)

Which character – as performed by Laurel Schroeder – was your favorite?

I LOVED the way Laurel Schroeder performed all the characters but I have to say Elle was my favorite by far! She was indomitable and unique and refused to take anything from anyone. I could hear the determination in her voice... Not to be misled or marginalized... To learn to true reality of her world and face what needed to be faced. It was inspiring and kept me rooting for her until the end! I hope she continues on with this series as I can't imagine anyone else voicing these characters near as well!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! I was always sad when I had to take a break... But sleeping and eating are not optional! It kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I can't wait to listen to the next one! This was an amazing listen :)

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. This is the first book. I can't wait to listen to Crazy, Stupid, Undead!

Elle has her whole life planned out ... And it is going to be amazing! She is finishing her PHd and getting married to an amazing man who is already a lawyer at a really good firm. Nothing could possibly derail her life... Until the night she comes home to find a *gasp* Vampire?! Eating her fiance Greg!!! She just gets so angry the only thing she can think is KILL... So she grabs her team letter opener and stabs him right through the heart. How are Vampires real?! Why would one want to eat her fiance? How did he even get mixed up in all of this? Before she really has time to process anything really some guys show up and marvel at the fact she has killed the Vampire. Will her life ever be the same? Why are the guys there? How did they know about the Vampire? Where did Greg's body to? He was dead right? Can she get to the bottom of this Vampire thing? Or should she pretend they don't exist like a normal person?

Would you listen to Craze again? Why?

Probably. I really enjoyed it once I got over the horror of her boss being a pedo. It made the story both terrifying and exhilarating.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Craze?

The barbecue at Ryan's!

Which character – as performed by Sarah Grant – was your favorite?

Sarah Grant performed all the characters very well, but I especially adored her portayal of Krista. I felt her pain and misgiving as well as her joy and relief. The suspense and horror were palpable and I felt fully immersed in the story. I truly hope she carries on with the series as I cannot imagine these characters voiced by anyone else :)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No! It was waaay too intense :) I needed a few breaks to deal with the horror of her situation and the pure evilness of the villians! It was an amazing experience!

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. This is the first book. I can't wait to listen to Wire!

Krista has always been a little creeped by her boss Mr. Lowe... She just has no idea why. Him inviting her and her nephew Tate for a private weekend at his vacation house on the river makes her feel very odd. He didn't mention inviting Tate's parents... But that was an implied invitation right? Why would he want the two of them only? Who is the gorgeous guy who always kinda flirts with her in the park at lunch?

Working late one night to finish the reports she has due leads Krista to see something she cannot unsee. She thought she was alone in the office. All she was doing was her job. Finding her boss with a naked young boy in his office while another masked man watched and recorded as he fondled the boy made ALL the misgivings and odd feelings she had ever had about him click into place. She grabs the boy and runs straight to the cops. After the interrogation by a second officer who implicates her in the crime and calls into question the validity of her claims about "such an upstanding citizen" she realizes she has to run... And disappear... Before they make her disappear for good. Will the boy be safe? Can she get safely away? Will her family be safe? Especially Tate? How is she going to survive?

Ryan has been hired to track down and turn over Krista, the sexy classy woman he has been admiring from afar in the park for over a month. Something about the case doesn't sit well with him. Above all, some unreasonable part of him feels the need to keep her safe. What has she gotten herself into? What exactly could she have stolen that was important enough to hire a private security firm to hunt her down for? Why does this job make him feel so uneasy?

This book has many comedic moments to balance the horror and terror of the subject matter. I found it very enjoyable even though it contained elements that I would normally avoid. I can't see how this book could be done any other way :) It was truly an intense nail biter right up until the very end!

***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy their romantic suspense with a great deal of horror and plenty of thrills, chills, action, mystery and romance with the requisite HEA :)
