Historia
In a profound, funny, and beautifully rendered portrait of a beloved companion, bestselling novelist Dean Koontz remembers the golden retriever who changed his life. A retired service dog, Trixie was three when Dean and his wife, Gerda, welcomed her into their home. She was superbly trained, but her greatest gifts couldn’t be taught: her keen intelligence, her innate joy, and an uncanny knack for living in the moment.

Enriching and Inspiring
Revisado: 02-07-16
Words just can't express how much this memoir touched me. It uplifted me, enriched me, and has inspired me to be more aware of the world around me. I'm grateful to Dean and Gerda Koontz for sharing their beloved Trixie with us, and grateful, too, to the narrator for such a poignant, brilliant performance.

Absolutely Brilliant Story and Narration!!
Revisado: 06-27-15
I haven't been this excited about a series in ages!!!
Bound by Flames, the 3rd book in the Night Prince series is, in my opinion, the best of the 3 so far. It's loaded with twists and turns and things I didn't see coming, things that had me on the edge of my seat, frantic to find out how Vlad and Leila would get out of their current mess - and who was going to die a painful death for putting them in that mess. Vlad takes vengeance to a whole new level, all the while being amazingly loving and compassionate in an endearing 'don't make me set your ass on fire' way. :D
Once again Tavia Gilbert blew me away with her narration. That woman has talent! The way she seamlessly switches between characters, staying true to their heavy accents and personalities is nothing short of brilliant!
Sexy, passionate, romantic, brutally violent, funny... this story has it all and I'm not sure how I'll manage to stay sane while waiting for book 4!

4 wildly exciting stars!
Revisado: 06-02-15
Wild Heat is the first book in Bella Andre's Hot Shots: Men of Fire series, set in gorgeous Lake Tahoe. If you've ever been there you know just how tranquil it can be on the lake. It can also be a fierce and terrifying place when you hit the Tahoe National Forest during fire season, but toss in an arsonist with revenge in mind and those men and women firefighters are standing on the threshold of hell.
To be honest, I went in to this thinking it'd be one of those books with a thin plot, nothing more than a backdrop for sex. You know the type - 6 pages devoted to sex, then a page devoted to plot, rinse and repeat. That's what I expected...
I was so very wrong!
This is an exciting, poignant, sexy romance with a fast-paced, intense mystery plot. From chapter to chapter I was trying to figure out who the arsonist was and what their motives could be, and just when I was sure it was suspect #1, another person of interest would come along and then I'd be sure it was suspect #2! Or #3... I was never positive who it could be until it was proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt.
The bottom line - Wild Heat is my kind of book and if you're like me and want a solid story with your romance and steam, and love you some hot, sexy firefighters...then stop what you're doing and listen-up - you must read this book! And if you enjoy listening to audio books, this is a great one. Eva Kaminsky's voice is clear, sultry, and a pleasure to listen to!

Historia
When Nina Linden is hired to landscape a private island off the New England coast, she sees it as her chance to rebuild her failing business after being cheated by her unscrupulous ex. She never expects that her new client, software mogul Deacon Whitney, would see more in her than just a talented gardener. Deacon has paid top dollar to the crews he’s hired to renovate the desolate Whitney estate - he had to, because the bumps, thumps, and unexplained sightings of ghostly figures in 19th-century dress are driving workers away faster than he can say “Boo.”

Another Winner!
Revisado: 05-16-15
I really am a huge fan of Molly Harper’s stories, with the Jane Jamison series being my favorite. Reading the stories is a great experience but nothing beats listening and reading along at the same time as Amanda Ronconi brings it all to life.
Though it took a little while for Better Homes and Hauntings to grab me, I enjoyed the whole book. Because this is a standalone, there was a lot of time spent on character introduction and plot set-up which isn’t necessarily a bad thing considering there are actually 2 romances taking place – 3 if you count the dearly departed couple who are the foundation and driving force behind this story.
The bottom line…
If you’re interested in trying her work without investing in a series, Better Homes and Hauntings is a great place to start. It’s an entertaining story with awesome characters and lots of witty dialog. It’s romantic, steamy, funny, and spooky, and I really wish Ms. Harper would write more ‘ghostly’ tales.

I hate that it's over........
Revisado: 05-11-15
“If you press me to say why I loved him, I can say no more than because he was he, and I was I.” ~ Michel de Montaigne
There really are no words I can find to describe how amazing this series is, but I can tell you that The Dark Tide is the perfect ending to Adrien and Jake's story. I've seen some reviewers refer to this installment as 'sappy' but I couldn't disagree more. Romantic, yes! But it's poignant, intriguing, and steamy - and, most importantly it's my kind of happily ever after - hard fought, and well deserved.
Once again, Chris Patton has given the perfect voice to Adrien, Jake, and the entire story.
I'm heartbroken that this series is over because I've loved every moment I've spent reading it...every page, every sentence, every word.

Riveting, enchanting, passionate, exciting....
Revisado: 05-11-15
...the entire series is amazing! I didn't think anything could surpass my love of the last book, The Hell You Say, but I was soooo wrong! Death of A Pirate King is a gripping, tightly woven murder mystery, true, but it's also one of the best second...or is it third?...fourth?...chance romances I've ever read! I am positively swooning over Adrien and Jake. *sigh* Positively swooning!
And it can not go without saying - the audio version with Chris Patton 'at the mic' is, once again, perfection!

Historia
The third novel in the Adrien English series finds the "ill-starred and bookish" mystery writer and bookseller battling demons - maybe literally. After bookstore clerk Angus flees following terrifying death threats, Adrien must contend with a mysterious Satanic cult, a hot and handsome university professor, and his on-again/off-again relationship with closeted LAPD Homicide Detective Jake Riordan. And oh yes, murder...

Brilliant!
Revisado: 05-11-15
I had long ago given up on the m/m genre, whether the stories be paranormal or suspenseful or merely contemporary romance, because they all started to run together... just the same old stuff. I've recently discovered, however, that in giving up all together I've been missing out on the writing brilliance of Josh Lanyon.
The Hell You Say is the 3rd book in the Adrien English Mystery series and, so far, my favorite. This story of occult and murder is action packed and fast paced, and simply amazing. Exciting, intriguing, humorous, steamy, and at times even poignant... to say this was entertaining is to say the least!
The audio version is very, very good! Chris Patton's voice is seductive and comfortable and appealing. He does an amazing job of bringing the characters to life, and I can't imagine a more perfect voice for this series.

4.5 Overall Stars
Revisado: 05-04-15
Fatal Shadows is the first book in Josh Lanyon’s Adrien English series. This book isn’t a romance, nor is it an erotic read. What it is is one hell of a murder mystery!
My friends have been raving about Mr. Lanyon’s books for awhile now, and now I get why. He’s got a unique style when it comes to storytelling, and toss in an interesting cast and an intriguing mystery loaded with twists and turns, Fatal Shadows turned out to be a refreshing, totally entertaining read!
Chris Patton is the narrator and he does a fantastic job bringing the characters to life! His voice is so attractive and comfortable to listen to that I have to admit I'm just a little bit in lust with it! The sound quality is pretty good, but there were a couple other issues which could be resolved with better audio editing during production.

Everything we now know about the universe - from the behavior of quarks to the birth of galaxies - has come from people who've been willing to ponder the unanswerable. And with the advent of modern science, great minds have turned to testing and experimentation rather than mere thought as a way of grappling with some of the universe's most vexing dilemmas. So what is our latest picture of some of the most inexplicable features of the universe? What still remains to be uncovered and explored by today's scientists?

4 inexplicably fascinating stars!
Revisado: 03-24-15
Neil deGrasse Tyson is absolutely brilliant narrating this set of lectures in Audible's The Great Courses series. His excitement for these unsolved mysteries is apparent and that made me even more fascinated by what I was learning. It was nice to be able listen to a single lecture, then not have to recap when I started listening again because these lectures are topic-unrelated to each other.
Overall, my favorite part of The Inexplicable Universe: Unsolved Mysteries, is getting the behind the scenes scoop on how some of our greatest discoveries were made, and why some of our most thought provoking questions remain unanswered.
This is a must listen for anyone who finds themselves looking at the world around them and wondering...
