Empathy
Revisado: 08-12-24
This man is a joy to listen to. He is so selfless and full of compassion. I bought this book before you even finished the interview. I’ve read a few of his books and have enjoyed them all. I agree it will become a classic. I would hope it would be a required reading, but we know what’s been happening to most of those books. It’s a scary time for us all right now and I think this book would be an eye opener to what we are again facing here in our country today. Thank you for writing it. I think you are an angel amongst us

Could not listen to this Podcast. The girl was extremely rude to the the interviewer. I would have left her and her self importance in a heart beat. He has the patience of a saint

The story and the narrator was wonderful. I have one question that does not seem right though. With all her intuition and spiritual gifts, how did she not know who Dr. Noah was?

Amazing
Revisado: 05-27-17
Another masterpiece by Lisa See. The story attracts you from start to finish. I used to always read books. Now I enjoy audible books so much more. This story is compelling and very emotional. I feel you get to know the characters much better hearing the feelings behind the words read aloud. Beautiful story, and performance.

Historia
In this spectacular saga as radiant, thrilling, and beguiling as Hollywood itself, Adriana Trigiani takes us back to Tinsel Town's golden age - an era as brutal as it was resplendent - and into the complex and glamorous world of a young actress hungry for fame and success. With meticulous, beautiful detail, Trigiani paints a rich, historical landscape of 1930s Los Angeles, where European and American artisans flocked to pursue the ultimate dream: to tell stories on the silver screen.

A great tribute to Loretta Young.
Revisado: 10-26-15
A Hollywood story told with dignity and respect as only Adriana could do. She makes you feel her characters from the inside where it truly counts, not the superficial surface the changes with time. Another winner for a great author.

Incredible Stone Gap!!!!
Revisado: 09-25-12
What did you love best about Big Stone Gap?
The ease by which your were drawn into Ave Maria's. life and predicaments. Her voice was commanding and soothing at the same time. Would compare it to comfort food that makes you feel soothed and satisfied. Her problems became real to the reader as well as to herself. I reread (listened) to these books as soon as I was done with them.
What other book might you compare Big Stone Gap to and why?
Queen of the Big Time. Another of Adrianna's books. I love books that go through generations of families. She brought America and the family's ties to Italy together in this one as well. Stressing family values no matter how much outside pressure is being placed on it's members. She is one of my favorite writers.
Which scene was your favorite?
I think when she decided to leave Joe Mack. She was filled with self righteous indignation, but her friend took a hard stand and made her truly take a look at who she was and what she had done herself. It was her Ah Hah moment.
If you could rename Big Stone Gap, what would you call it?
Ave Maria's Rite of Passage? Finding Yourself Amongst the Chaos?
Any additional comments?
Would love to hear her read Queen of the Big Time. I think the reader can make or break a book. She would definitely make this one. Hope she keeps writing LOVE her style and story lines.

Historia
Oscar the cat has a very special skill. An otherwise ordinary cat—he'd sooner give you his back or a sideways glance than curl up on your lap—Oscar has the uncanny ability to predict when people are about to die. Adopted by staff members at Steere House nursing home when he was a kitten, the three year-old cat has presided over the deaths of more than twenty-five nursing home residents thus far.

Where does Making Rounds with Oscar rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Top 5. Need more Oscars in nursing homes. Comforting for patience and their families.
Takes himself and his percieved responsibilites seriously. He is like the quiet hand helping them make their final journey.
What did you like best about this story?
His determination not be pushed away from where he knew he was needed. Also, I have an elderly mom (90) it helped me to understand where she was at emotionally. I don't get as frustrated any more I just think Oscar! And I know she can't help what she does and says.
Which scene was your favorite?
The most touching was when the jewish couple had their anniversary and the husband had to face the fact that the wife he loved was no longer able to connect with him. I think he went home and died of a broken heart. He was trying to hold on to the memory of her for so long. I think her reaction to him was quite a shock. One he never got over.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Would have loved to YES. My daughters and I all read it as a family book club book. We all enjoyed Oscar very much.
Any additional comments?
Are there anymore follow on books to Oscar or MiMi at Steere House?
