Historia
Working as a quality-assurance grunt in the gaming industry sounds like fun, right? You get to play the coolest new games before anyone else. And all you have to do is to find, reproduce, and report bugs before the last pixel is locked in and the games are launched to an eager public. Sure, there’s the unpaid overtime, the office politics, and the ever-present threat of layoffs. But you get to game!

Historia
Prepare yourself for a transformative experience. Sometimes, life's setbacks contain hidden gifts. Here at Lakewood, you'll find the space to unwrap them. A weekend at the Lakewood Retreat is exactly what Chloe Powell needs. Freshly unemployed after her boss loses a reelection campaign, the former press secretary desperately wants a break from the bustle of Washington DC. A flier posted at her yoga studio leads her to the getaway, which looks amazing: organic meals, celebrity testimonials, and a serene private property within driving distance of the city.

Very good
Revisado: 05-23-20
Got this for free from Audible Originals. I really enjoyed this book, it’s really short but I love the reveal, the suspense, and how nuts the bad guy is. I really enjoyed this book and I’m impressed at how short but full of a story it is. I will definitely check out more books from these authors.

Historia
Something called the “Blue Juice" is coming. For all of us. Luckily, me (Chip Collins), Pete, Nikola Tesla, Bobo, and FBI Agent Gina Phillips are here to kick its ass, and send it back to last Tuesday. Maybe. Or maybe we'll fail, and everyone in the multiverse is doomed. (Seriously, you might want to get that underground bunker ready.) Either way, I've got to get home to Julie and find out – woah, I'm not about to tell you that right here in the book description! TMI, dude.

Fun read
Revisado: 01-20-20
What a fun sequel to “Where The Hell is Tesla” by Rob Dircks, much like the first book you should expect a fun adventure with a lot of humor and some loving moments. I didn’t realize the author also did the audiobooks and I thought he did a great job at both. I particularly love the Cockroach King and Chip becoming President. I definitely intend to check out more of Rob Dircks books in the future.

Eve looks like an ordinary 12-year-old girl, but there’s nothing ordinary about her. She has no last name. No parents or guardian. She’s on the run from a dangerous and secretive organization that will stop at nothing to track her down. And most astonishing of all: she’s a robot, a product of Eden Laboratories. When Eve discovers the truth, she realizes everything she thought she knew about herself is a lie. Eve manages to escape, fleeing the lab, the only home she’s ever known.

Great Pickup
Revisado: 01-20-20
I picked this book up for free from #audibleoriginal and really didn’t know what to expect since it was in the kids section. But let me tell you, this book gave me a new appreciation and outlook towards books aimed at a younger audience. I also really enjoyed the voice acting and the sound effects. I think this would be a great Netflix movie.
(Spoiler) Learning David’s backstory is so sad and really visual, it makes him such a great villain because you can see and sorta understand why he blames himself and why he puts his entire life toward recreating his family. The shocking reveal that Emory was actual a robot the whole time and that he also died in the car accident really blew my mind and had no idea that was coming. I really also loved Eve learning how to be human and also embracing her robot side.

Historia
Aisha Tyler, comedian, actress, cohost of CBS's The Talk, star of Archer, and creator of the top-ranked podcast Girl on Guy, serves up a spectacular collection of her own self-inflicted wounds. From almost setting herself on fire, to vomiting on a boy she liked, to getting drunk and sleeping through the SATs, to going into crushing debt to pay for college and then throwing away her degree to become a comedian, Aisha's life has been a series of spectacularly epic fails. And she's got the scars to prove it. Literally.

Just okay
Revisado: 12-16-19
This book was just okay for me, I either was already in a reading slump or this put me into a reading slump but it was okay-enough for me to finish but not anything I was really pushing to read. I also wasn't a fan of the writing style and tone.

Disappointing
Revisado: 12-16-19
Honestly, it was a struggle listening through this. The present-day moments were fine but the past memory stuff really didn’t interest me. I was at the point where I was hoping there was some big twist at the end that made all that backstory matter and it was disappointing when nothing really came of it.

Reading-Slump Killer
Revisado: 11-09-19
This book is so just so great and so different.
I love that this is told through the different characters by interviews and in the audiobook, each character had their own distinctive tones.
I really found all of this so believable and felt so realistic when I heard it. All the violence and tribalism seemed like an inevitability.
I will say that this is the "perfect" audiobook because there are so many characters but you don't necessarily need to remember their names because it is more about what happens then who it happens to or by whom causes it. That is what made it the perfect reading-slump killer book because the story is so captivating and easily understood.
I look forward to checking out more books from the author

Historia
From the author of the international best seller The Stone Man, short-listed for Audible UK's Book of the Year Award 2015. Here are the rules. Method: you can't use a gun. You can't use explosives. You can't use poison. It has to be up close and personal. You don't have to worry about leaving evidence; that will be taken care of. Victim: no one suicidal. No one over the age of 65. No one with a terminal illness. Choose your method. Choose your victim.

What would you do?
Revisado: 08-01-17
I went into this book thinking it was a "making of a monster" kind of gory book and toward the middle, I started feeling disappointed because it wasn't. Then toward the end after the twists and turns, I appreciated the ethics and moral philosophy it provoked.
What I like most about this book is that it's thought proking. Every step of the way you question whether Chris is doing the "right thing" and what you would do in his place and that was quite fun.

Awesome made me want to play a MMORPG again
Revisado: 05-11-17
That was awesome.
This book literally made me go back to playing Maplestory after like 8 years.
There isn't a hard plot to the story and lots of world building, but that's pretty much what open world games are. I liked the quest stories and I found the grinding and training and partying training relatable.
Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
