In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

The account of Trump's effort to stay in power is well-organized and convincing. The inclusion of Liz's narration and the voices of other Republicans lends credibility and strength to their testimony and the attempted coup.

Historia
Few figures in American politics have seen more and said less than Mitt Romney. An outspoken dissident in Donald Trump’s GOP, he has made headlines in recent years for standing alone against the forces he believes are poisoning the party he once led. Romney was the first senator in history to vote to remove from office a president of his own party. When that president’s supporters went on to storm the US Capitol, Romney delivered a thundering speech from the Senate floor accusing his fellow Republicans of stoking insurrection.

Este libro cuenta la verdad sobre Romney, sus ambiciones y los sacrificios que hizo para salvar la democracia estadounidense. Hasta ahora no era un gran admirador de Romney. Romney es el mejor republicano.

In Music as a Mirror of History, Great Courses favorite Professor Greenberg of San Francisco Performances returns with a fascinating and provocative premise: Despite the abstractness and the universality of music - and our habit of listening to it divorced from any historical context - music is a mirror of the historical setting in which it was created. Music carries a rich spectrum of social, cultural, historical, and philosophical information, all grounded in the life and experience of the composer.

Excellent pairing of music with history
Revisado: 03-04-22
Professor Greenberg makes sense of political history through a musical context. It was fascinating to listen to. I understand more about world history from the Middle Ages forward than ever and through his research, musical knowledge and amazing ability to condense it into this series of lectures, has made it entertaining and enlightening. It was mostly history but fascinating! But, I also learned about composers I have never heard of and would never have been aware of and that has expanded my musical awareness. This is the third series I have listened too and enjoyed thoroughly. The Beethoven and Bach series are also excellent!

Historia
The key to spiritual and emotional health is to grasp the truth of God's transforming love for us and then let that reality influence our own hearts and relationships. It seems simple, but we are experts at complicating simple things. Instead of living lives characterized by love we find ourselves trapped in cycles of shame, violence, and addiction that steal our joy and keep us from loving others - so much so that, by all indications, Christians are living no differently than anyone else when it comes to abuse rates, use of pornography, alcohol and drug addiction, and more.
