I listened to Game of Love again after reading it back in 2014. The narration brought to life Ellie and Dex’s story in a way that I didn’t remember from reading it. Ellie has had a rough upbringing and Dex was there for her when they were younger before she had to move away. When she shows back up at his doorstep then leaves again, he is devastated. Finding her in NYC is both a blessing and a curse. He is so happy to see her but doesn’t know if he can trust her and Ellie still doesn’t know how to open up and let him all the way in either. Overcoming their fears is the only way they can find love. This is a great story – even the second time around – I love all of Melissa’s characters but have a special soft spot for Ellie and Dex.

I loved this book when I first read it in the fall and it didn't disappoint as an Audible book the second time I "read/listened" to it. There is nothing better than listening to a Melissa Foster book read by BJ Harrison. He brings the characters to life and the Bradens at Peaceful Harbor are great!

I started this book with the same excitement I have for each Melissa Foster book and at first I wondered why Melissa hadn’t spent more time on the “before” relationship for Ty Braden and Aiyla Bell, but quickly I realized that while the “before” was important to set the scene, the NOW was SO powerful and needed the whole book to explore their relationship. Fate steps in and brings Ty and Aiyla back together after meeting months before. Their love is as strong as ever when they reconnect at a charity race and they feel as if nothing can come between them, until they encounter a health scare and have to really test their love. Aiyla has to overcome her fear that she is just one of many to Ty and he does all he can to prove to her that she is the only one for him now and forever. This is by far my favorite Melissa Foster book (and I have loved them all).

BJ Harrison did a great job bringing this story to life. Who doesn’t love a man that is totally immersed in his child… Nash Morgan is trying to raise a son on his own and when he needs to rent out a room to make a little extra cash, he isn’t prepared for all that Tempest Braden will bring to his and Phillip’s life. Tempest forces him to let go a little for his sake and that of his son. And Tempest gets just as much out of the relationship. Tempest has left her family (although she didn’t go far and is never out of range of other Bradens) to try to jump start her business. Helping (and loving) Nash and Phillip is just what she needs as well. It is a beautiful story of loving people coming together and opening their hearts to possibilities. Listening to their story was a great way to spend a cold afternoon in front of the fire!

Steve and Shannon grab your attention from the very beginning of the audible narration. Shannon came back to the mountain to see where the attraction she feels between her and Steve can go and Steve does all he can for as long as he can to resist that attraction because he knows his "Butterfly" will never be happy on the mountain and he can't see himself anywhere else. However, their mutual love of the mountain and desire to keep developers away, coupled with Shannon's persistence to go after what she knows she wants, brings them closer together until Steve can no longer deny her. Their love is so strong and their time together so short. It was a great listening to Shannon bring her grizzly man off the mountain to be more sociable. All this is happening while they know that their time together is limited to Shannon’s research project on the mountain… I really enjoyed listening to their story.

What do you get when you mix a lady’s man with a woman who is weary of men in general, and those that cheat in particular. Sparks! I loved reading this book and seeing a love unfold between a man who was never willing to commit and a woman who never wanted to commit again.

Despite his brother’s warning to stay away from Faith, Sam was on a mission to earn her trust. The lengths that Sam will go to in order to make Faith believe in him was very romantic. And Faith had to go against her best friend’s advice and take a leap of faith and hope that Sam would catch her!

I had read this book awhile ago and loved listening to it again as it brought me back and let me experience Sam and Faith's story in a totally different perspective.

I loved listening to Leesa and Cole’s story unfold on audio. Leesa flees to Peaceful Harbor to escape awful allegations made by one of her former students which turns her life literally upside down. Cole is an orthopedic surgeon who has moved back to Peaceful Harbor and is busy with a thriving medical practice and is not looking for love. Neither is looking for love but a chance meeting over a muffin starts them down a path to discovering that they do need each other. Cole helps Leesa recover from all that has shaken her very core and Leesa’s sweet and bruised heart is just what Cole needs. This was a great story to listen to and fall in love along with Leesa and Cole.

I had read Healed by Love a long time ago but was so excited when Melissa Foster's books came to audio that I wanted to re-"listen" to one of my favorite Braden stories. I loved Nate and Jewel for many reasons – his reluctance to show his love for his best friend’s younger sister and her willingness to put her family – mother and younger siblings – first before going after the love she so desperately wants. Listening to BJ Harrison recreate the story I so loved brought depth to the characters I had envisioned in my head when reading it. Listening to Nate and Jewel’s love unfold and both let go of guilt (his return from the military where her brother was killed in action and her desire to care for her family above all else) and embrace the future was a lot of fun. I can’t wait to listen to more of Melissa Foster’s great Braden romances!
