Historia
The last thing fourteen-year-old Jay Berry Lee expects to find while trekking through the Ozark Mountains of Oklahoma is a tree full of monkeys. But then Jay learns from his grandpa that the monkeys have escaped from a traveling circus, and there’s a big reward for the person who finds and returns them. His family could really use the money, so Jay sets off, determined to catch them. But by the end of the summer, Jay will have learned a lot more than he bargained for—and not just about monkeys.

My children and I really enjoyed this story. And it was so fun to have the different voices for the characters but still have the unabridged book rather than dramatized. Highly recommend!

4 stars for narrator because his girl voices weren’t that great, kind of kid ish but I’m sure those are tricky.

Revisado: 04-03-24
We first read this with mom reading aloud and they didn’t want me to stop. Now that we finished we got the audio so they can re listen when they want. It’s such a wonderful children’s story that’s profound enough to be valuable for adults as well.

Mom can enjoy listening to too
Revisado: 11-09-23
My kids LOVE Laurie Berkner. And since that means we play it in the car a lot I appreciate that the songs are really great and a quality that an adult can listen to and enjoy as well. You know how some kid content is just kind of really dumbed down so adults feel their brain melting? Well Laurie Berkner is NOT like that. Its quality. And I’m glad she made two seasons!! We need all we can get!
