What it takes to become indistractable!
Revisado: 08-10-24
I wasn’t 100% sure what I was getting into when I purchased Indistractable, but ot ended up being more valuable than I could have ever imagined. From becoming indistractable with one’s family, friends, and loved ones, to becoming indistractable at work, to becoming indistractable with any task at hand…whether it be people or technology or paperwork or deadlines…and everything in between. There are so many take aways. I’m so glad I listened to this book and will listen to it again just to get the most out of all the information. Terrific read! He is also very relatable and draws you in with sub stories about himself and his wife and daughter. Highly recommended!

Historia
Here, the man who started the "food revolution" with the million-plus-selling Diet for a New America, boldly posits that, collectively, our personal diet can save ourselves and the world. If, according to chaos theory, the beating of a butterfly's wing can cause a hurricane in another part of the world, try this out for chaotic cause and effect: monarch butterflies are dying in droves due to genetically-engineered corn growing in the Midwest. There is also a direct correlation between the Big Mac in your hand and the mile-wide river now running across the North Pole.

Amazing (and scary) statistics & knowledge! Well done John!
Revisado: 07-12-24
I really loved this book. I play with the idea of becoming a vegetarian or a vegan again. I have tried it in the past due to migraines and it didn’t really help with them, so I kind of went off of it. But for all the reasons in this book, I am working my way toward it again. John Robbins is amazingly knowledgeable and a teller of the truth! Scary and ugly, but need to know truth. Definitely worth the read or listen. If for nothing else, just for the knowledge and to open your eyes. He does not preach at you or try to sway you in any direction other than to tell you the statistics and the information.

How much of our daily caloric intake comes from ingesting substances that, technically speaking, do not meet traditional definitions of “food”? Chances are, if you’re eating something that came wrapped in plastic and contains a funky ingredient you don’t have in your kitchen, it's most likely—almost definitely—ultra-processed food, or UPF.

Never realized I was a binge eater.
Revisado: 01-15-24
I truly enjoyed this book and found it very enlightening. I am currently in a program called Bright Line Eating, and one of the groups was talking about this book. I thought I would get it just for some tips for what I was doing. I never thought that binging was something I did, however, after listening to this audiobook, I completely disagree with myself and realize I have been a binge eater since in the single digits of life. Kathryn did a great job of sharing her life experiences with binge eating and the science behind it with the audience on a very real personal level. If you struggle with eating, or with binging and purging, then you will find useful things in this book! Again, until I read this book, I never would have said I was a binge eater. Now I will say that I most definitely was. Thank you for a terrific personal story and fantastic information. Thank you for continuing to help people on their journey through binge eating.

Historia
For his victims, for their families and for the investigators tasked with finding him, the senselessness and brutality of the Golden State Killer's acts were matched only by the powerlessness they felt at failing to uncover his identity. Then, on April 24, 2018, authorities arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo at his home in Citrus Heights, Calif., based on DNA evidence linked to the crimes. Amazingly, it seemed, evil finally had a name. Please note: This work contains descriptions of violent crime and sexual assault and may not be suitable for all listeners.

Revisado: 12-07-22
This Audible exclusive book was fantastic! I have heard stories and watched programs and read so much about this serial killer for so many years, and to hear how the actual events played out and to hear it from the mouth of the victims, the DNA analysts, the detectives, and the agents was just fantastic! Highly recommend! Fantastic job, everyone! And congratulations!

I have fallen in love with the Thursday Murder Club!!!! The characters, the plot twists, the journey, the places…I hang on the edge of my seat the entire time! The change of narrator did throw me at first as I had to relearn whose voice was whose. But now I can’t even remember how they used to be. The books are brilliant, as are all the characters! I want to live somewhere like that and join a club like that in 30 years! 😁

Fantastic read!!!!
Revisado: 07-24-22
This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It was absolutely amazing! Told so well! The storyline was magnificent and the going back-and-forth several decades but each being titled the name of the person was a really cool way to do it. I am so glad this book sheds more light on illegal adoptions. I am a child of a legal adoption in the 70s to a wonderful family and can’t imagine the hardships that these families went through! Both the children who were stolen and the families they were stolen from. They say she is a serial killer and I believe it! The uncaring she had for these “commodities“ is just disgusting. But again, this book and the storyline are absolutely amazing and the story is told so well! Highly recommended read!!!!
