Christmas Midlife Mate
Revisado: 04-17-25
This is a slightly angsty, relatable and enjoyable story in the Destined Over Forty series from Meg Ripley. I think the stories in this vein are pretty formulaic, but good and this was no exception.

Historia
Welcome to Everlasting, Maine, where there's no such thing as normal. Anna Crawford is well aware her town is filled with supernaturals, but she isn't exactly willing to embrace her paranormal gifts. Her aunt says she's a witch-in-denial. All Anna wants is to live a quiet "normal" life and run her business, Witch's Brew Coffee Shop and Bakery. But everything is about to be turned upside down the moment Jackson Argent walks into her life. Jackson isn't sure why he agreed to come back to his boyhood home of Everlasting. It's like a spell was cast and he couldn't say no.

This is a fun and very entertaining story with an equally fun and entertaining premise where everything is normal while being so not normal with all the paranormal happenings. The twists and turns were well-done, and the characters very intriguing. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up for an excellent afternoon's entertainment.

Historia
When my childhood best friend asked me to be her bridesmaid, I didn’t realize that meant spending a week on a yacht. With her obnoxious, conceited new friends. Sounds like a trip from hell for a 40-year-old shifter witch—until my inner bobcat zeroes in on her mate on board. The captain just so happens to be a bear shifter, and when primal need draws us closer, I end up getting a private tour of the captain’s quarters.

This one was a wild and entertaining installment in the Destined Over Forty series from Meg Ripley. It's well-written and entertaining with a little bit of drama, and a satisfying HEA. The narration was good and worked for both male and female characters, so that was enjoyable.

Super Enjoyable
Revisado: 02-10-25
I didn't read or listen to the first book in the series before this one, and I think that's okay, because the foundation is firm and the author does a great job of engaging the reader right away with the characters. I WILL be going back to read the other book, though, because this one was delightfully entertaining with top notch humor (a Michelle M. Pillow trademark) and fun, wacky situations that keep you reading eagerly and with great anticipation.

Sweet and Funny
Revisado: 02-10-25
This is a sweet, funny, well-written, and very entertaining story with a unique take on the dynamics of relationship and our expectations of what's "typical." I love how the author brought the characters to life, and the narration was enjoyable. I'll be looking for more from this author for sure.

Historia
Dorian Gray’s painting was never in the vault of the library. We currently have no idea where it is and the only person who can track it is probably being held hostage in a storage yard with all kinds of cursed objects. Balthazar’s dick is still cursed and there’s no easy way to remove it. I already made it worse once. I hope it doesn’t fall off this time. I was totally against marrying Reyson when he woke up and announced I would be his new wife, but my resolve on that is starting to weaken. I’m starting to care for the damned god.

It's Good
Revisado: 02-06-25
I still don't like the narration style, and the author definitely needs to work on scene transitions and time changes, but the characters are interesting and the world building is good. I listened to the first book, and I do want to see what happens next, so I can overlook how much I didn't care for the jarring narration transitions. It's likely just a me problem, so don't let that steer you away from the story as a whole, because it is entertaining.

Excellent Collection
Revisado: 02-05-25
This is an EXCELLENT complete collection of the Fated Over Forty series. I've read many of these, but having them all together to listen to/read in order is AMAZING. Yes, the stories follow a basic, predictable formula, but they are all good; all different, and have interesting, realistic (despite being shifter-centered stories) with great relationships, and normal problems that any reader can relate to. The narration in the audiobook is great, and the stories are well-written and entertaining. I LOVED this complete collection; it is absolutely worth the time and investment.

Studying in London was an amazing experience, but was it worth it? That’s the question I keep asking myself. It cost me a lot. It cost me Colin Hill. I’ve been in love with that boy since the first time I saw him in grade three. I thought that breaking up with him before college was the right thing to do. But now, I’m not so sure.

Not My Favorite, But Not Bad I Guess
Revisado: 01-22-25
I've really enjoyed the Greene Mountain Boys series from Olivia T. Turner, but this one was definitely not my favorite. The only character I liked was Colin and that made me sad. London for vet school....? Eh. Feels convoluted, so I wasn't on board with the whole premise of the story, but it's a quick read/listen so I got through it even when I didn't care about her at all. Truthfully, I didn't care for the female narration and it's entirely possible that's one of the reasons I was more critical of the FMC, but realistically, I felt like she was obnoxious and more than a little silly, so I wasn't invested in her part of the story. But that's not been the case for me and the other stories in the series, so I still look forward to more of these quick, entertaining reads.

Need to summon a demon? Raise the dead? A clan of vampires bothering you? Do you like the really nasty werewolf erotica? The Library of the Profane has all of that, but not everyone can handle the contents (Some people can’t handle their werewolf erotica). I’ve been a librarian here for five years and when I say I killed to get this job, I’m not being facetious.

Sadly didn't love it
Revisado: 01-14-25
I honestly hated the narration on this one; which makes me sad, because I hate leaving bad reviews, but it just doesn't work for me; far too chaotic with so many narrators. And there was a problem with the randomness of all the scene jumps that just made it a headache to try to follow the story. This one just didn't work for me.
