where do I start? I just finished the Cabot series of 8 or 9 books. I truly enjoyed it and I was curious about this author so I tried this story. I enjoyed the style of this book. it's a different animal. the first part was written to introduce us to the mother of the baby that gets kidnapped. I couldn't understand why we went into such detail of this character at first, until the mother started on a mission to get her baby back! What an adventure! I believe if she hadn't have gone after this kidnapper, her baby wouldn't have survived. As a mother, I understand the drive of this mother. This story shows what a mother will do to get her baby back. What an adventure!

Excellent 3rd book!!

There are only a few series that I enjoy. Ordinary series are lucky if the 2nd books are as good as the first. This is one of those series that develops their characters even deeper with each book. I find myself rooting them on, and even yelling out loud when they get injured or done wrong! I can envision the story as it happens. I am falling for Grey Wolf!!🤣
I am going to start part 4 right now!!

I'm quite old and haven't read comic books since Little Lottie, but this was so superbly written and acted that you can see the play in your head. I will listen to the second book right now. This may broaden my horizons from the classics and mysteries I'm used to.

I've always loved this series and pre-ordered ( my first time EVER to do) as soon as it was offered. I looked forward to escaping my world for a few hours while in Holly's world. I was sadly mistaken. 😥 From the very beginning today's political idiocy was in my face. I won't get into which color politics I subscribe to, but in my world my family isn't PERMITTED to discuss it in ANY way, shape or form. MOM'S RULES! (me)
I just spent 3 weeks in Maine. I'm 3 days away. ( driving) I stayed with my little brother. We're both retired now, and our birth father is dying. He's in Maine, also. It was only by biting my tongue until I tasted blood that kept my temperunder control when he started slamming my beliefs, personal, spiritual, political, he saved NOTHING back. I was waiting until I got home to have my Holly hope. My time with my favorite character.
Fast forward to this afternoon. I started listening while driving, yes... more... driving... and the first part was engaging. You have a pre-story of a " happening" in 2012. AWESOME START! Then, you're in 2021 with the red president out and the blue one in. The rest of the 90 mins was slamming the red and praising the blue. My chest was getting tight and I couldn't pull over to stop this book. It hurt SO BADLY that I actually wondered if this would be heart attack number 3! THIS IS NOT WHY I'VE WAITED FOR HOLLY!!!!!
I will order this for my blue son, and return mine bc I need my heart.
For ANY WRITER out there... except certain genres, of course, PLEASE LEAVE THE PROPAGANDA AND DEMORALIZING to the politicians. I'm to old for this. My country, church and family is constantly being divided. I'm done.

the first story

I love the first story! The second story was excruciatingly written about a little boy obsessed with the boys' room. after that, I stopped listening to the rest of the book, so I'll only tell you how scary and interesting that story is. It's a nail-biter until the end!

I struggled to finish this one. I found myself daydreaming and wandering. I travel everyday and my audiobooks are my solace. I won't listen to this one again. I loved the last sentence!

I was raised the same way. I'm not surprised that we may actually be related! we own a home 1 block away from his McKinley street home. I play Pokémon go at that park, then send gifts to my grandson who lives in Hawaii. I love that park.
My parents live in Campton Kentucky. that town is so small! I love it! My mamaw and papaw were the most important people in my life.
J.D. Vance is running for office here and his posters are everywhere. Now that I know where he comes from, I'm more inclined to vote for him. I will do my research. 😁

nothing like the movie! SUPERB!!

I liked the movie, but WOW! it's THIS story so much DIFFERENT!!
Now that I know the true story, the movie makes a lot more sense! The book, btw, is NOT scary. it's a wonderfully complex main story, with lots of branches that are stories in their own rite. you get the background on the main people from the different eras, and the history of the hotel. Without the background of the hotel, and the reasons it wants the boy, the movie doesn't make as much sense.
I highly recommend you listen to this one! I'm going to do Dr. Sleep next!
