Historia
Breathe, smile, and move on. When you’re writing the next chapter in your rags-to-riches-to-rags story, you need about a million quotes like that. I might have been short on inspiration, but I had determination. That was it, except for a very young cousin and a very old campervan, but I was all about starting over. Nobody knew me in New Zealand other than a series of café and motel managers, and anonymity suited me fine. Manlessness suited me even finer.

so many characters
Revisado: 08-25-24
I always love the series' that Rosalind writes. It feels like I can relate easier when I know some of the characters. This one was no exception, although there were so many previous characters it was so easy. I won't spoil the ending but I hated it. Not the story itself but what happened. You knew it was coming but it didn't make it easier. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the constant quotes. I like when there's some but I felt there was too many.
As for the narration, as always it was top of the line. I wasn't sure originally if I would like a male voice but it works out great. I think they compliment each other.
As always I can't wait for her next book.

Historia
Being sentenced by a woman in a black robe is not a meet-cute. Quinn Jeffries follows the rules. A judge in small-town Sinful, Montana, doesn’t have much room for missteps, and when you spend your childhood training for the Olympics, you don’t have time for anything but discipline anyway. And, see? It’s worked! Her life is just fine. Of course, it doesn’t include any romance, but her new six-first-dates plan could fix that. She just has to be feminine and beguiling, or maybe marginally less take-charge. Too bad she doesn’t know how.

Another great addition to the series
Revisado: 11-08-23
This is a great addition to the Sinful series. I love how the characters are a very competent judge, but romantically awkward, Olympic gold medalist woman and a general contractor, single father of 2 from Australia find a way to become friends then more. There's lots of different angles this book brings in as well as some characters from previous books. I love that Martin is a big presence. He such a great character. I always look forward to her next book no matter what series it is.
Emma Wilder also did amazing job again. She's 1 of my favorite narrators!!!
Although i received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.”

Very thoughtful
Revisado: 10-14-23
I've listened to all Rosalind James books and have loved all of them!
I really like when the characters from other books come back but are still a solo book. Luke and Hayden are brought up in other earlier books but their story hasn't been told until now. There is so much prejudice in our world today that it's nice to read a love story about how difficult it is to come out, but at the same time how support can come from people you never thought would support you. Whether they're in the same place, know someone who is, or just open minded enough that it doesn't matter. Hopefully someday it won't be an issue. Books like this will bring some awareness even if it's just all of their friends and family.
Also Emma Wilder does such a great job narrating. Her accents are so good and she's able to just go back and forth between them.
i always look forward to her new books!!

When you walk out of a cult with a driving license and the clothes on your back, you can face some challenges. How does a cooker work, and what do you cook on it? Is microwave pizza actually food, and how many times can you eat sausages before you never want to smell them again? And what do people put in all those bathroom drawers?

I love this series
Revisado: 09-08-22
This is such a great series. Its amazing how in each book that somebody left Mount Zion had a totally different experience with the freedom. In this book it was almost completely opposite. They were having a difficult time adjusting to the expectations required in their new world. I can empathize with each book. I don't know what I would choose if I were in that situation but Rosalind makes you see how it can be adapted to each person. It makes the story so interesting. I can't wait for the next book. I hope it's Frankie. As for the narrators they were so good! I've always loved Emma Wilder and now Calum Gittens is becoming a favorite as well. Their character voices are amazing.

Rescuing a woman dressed in a nightdress at a costume ball? That worked for me. And holding her up against the wall, to shield her from the cops, was pure enjoyment. Driving with her to a barbecue, a fruit salad in my lap, and her twins - her girl twins - in the back seat? Out of my comfort zone. And that was before she started asking me for dating lessons, and wondering how to explain that she couldn’t have sex before marriage. I had it under control, though. I was coping. Until four sisters of mine decided to go looking for their sperm donor.

I enjoyed it so much!
Revisado: 04-17-22
I love all of the Kiwi books! The descriptions of the all the towns and cities make me feel as if I've been there myself. Its actually number 1 on my bucket list because of them. I love how she can take a situation and put so many spin offs in it. In kiwi gold she goes in to religion, death, birth of multiple babies, single parents and so much more. It keeps you unable to put it down. I did lose some sleep trying to listen to just a little but more. I also love hearing the characters from her prior books in them, but if you haven't read them it's fine because it's not a sequel.
As always I can't wait for her next book!!!!!
As for the narrators I always think Emma Wilder is so amazing. She can easily do many voices old, young, male, female. She's one of my favorite narrators.
Tom Janson was a great addition. I didn't think I would like the dual narrators but I surprisingly enjoyed it.
Although I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own and I would have definitely purchased it on my own.

Historia
Luka Darkovic has some tackling skills. He hadn’t planned on using them to bring down a runaway dog the size of a Shetland pony, especially not when his neck is already buggered. At 33, a rugby forward protects his vertebrae.... He’s even less happy when the dog’s incompetent owner turns up in his hospital cubicle the next day with a plan to fix those vertebrae. He prefers his life simple and his neurosurgeons drama-free. And definitely less distracting.

I love this series!
Revisado: 09-07-21
Just one look the 14th book in the escape to new Zealand series is another great story to add to the collection. Although this could be a stand alone book it's so great to see the characters from previous books making appearances. These are 2 people brought together by circumstance and would otherwise not be a match by any means. But together they're able to make each other stronger and accept things they can not change about other people's ideas or expectations. Rosalind always has a way of describing New Zealand so you can actually see it as if you were standing on the coast looking either to the sea or the mountains. I love her books and would definitely recommend it to anyone with more than 5 stars if they had it.
And I'm such a huge fan of Emma Wilder. Her New Zealand accents whether make or female or even child are so amazing and now I'll add the southern American accent to the list. Her interpretations of the story lines are great be it sad or happy or any other kind of emotion she nails it.

Historia
When discipline is your life, structure’s a good thing, and Owen Johnson’s got plenty of both. An All-Pro NFL center who’s also a cattle rancher? Yeah, that’s structure. His marriage didn’t work out, but then, he picked the wrong woman. A Wyoming ranch doesn’t look nearly as romantic up close. Not to a model, anyway. Next time, he’ll choose better. Not, for example, a 19-year-old ball of fire like Dyma Cardello, who’s just starting on her own journey. To become an astronautical engineer. After about five years of schooling. Which she’s focused on like, well, a rocket.

Revisado: 06-08-21
As always I love Rosalind's books. I wasn't sure I would enjoy this book as much as her others because the main characters are so young, but it definitely worked. I also really like that she uses the characters from previous books in the series and gives you info so you remember who they were and what their story was. She also touched on the struggles that everyone has and how important family is no matter how big or small it is to help you through it. As for Emma Wilder, she's one of my favorite narrators. She can do so many different voices, men and women. I love her children's voices. I would totally recommend this book as well as any other one of her books

Historia
Harlan Kristiansen may not be good at many things, but he can sure catch a pass. He’s an All-Pro at charming a room, too, and then there’s that Norse God thing. He can even figure out how to tackle a woman and save her from a charging bison. On skis. What happens when you drop that game-winning pass, though, and your house is too big, too weird, and too empty? When your dad’s a mean drunk, your mom took off a long time ago and stayed gone, and all your money can’t keep your little sister safe? You fall back on what you know, that’s what.

Revisado: 02-11-21
I loved everything about this Audiblebook.. Once I started I didn't put it down. It was much edgier then her other books. But in a way it could just be any couple expressing themselves in bed then going back to being parents. There was multiple twists and turns but not in a overwhelming way. A perfect amount to keep you interested for the entire book. Emma Wilder as always was amazing. She does men, women, children and accents so perfectly. I really enjoy listening to her narrations. I actually think I enjoy listening to her then reading the book. 😊

People who say “love is trust” probably didn’t grow up in a cult. My name is Daisy Nabhitha Kittredge. I chose it myself. As an RN in the emergency department in one of New Zealand’s largest hospitals, there wasn’t much left in me of the 16-year-old girl, covered from neck to ankle and not allowed to make eye contact with a boy, who’d run away with five dollars in her pocket and terror in her heart.

Revisado: 08-26-20
As always I love this book. Rosalind definitely went a different way this time but she always comes back to such strong family units. I actually looked up to see if there was such a cult(there isn't) but she gives the disclaimer at the end. It is very sad to know there are places like this though. I also love how she has such a strong female character, although sometimes it doesn't seem that way but they really are. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the 2 narrators but they both did an amazing job.

Christmas means summer in New Zealand and All Blacks wedding season, too. Plans made and plans changed, because no matter how well you plan, life happens. Especially if, say, you’re marrying your late husband’s brother, you’ve got a couple of kids in the mix, and everybody’s talked too much about all that already. And then, there’s the rest of the family. A stepbrother who’s carried too big a secret for 30 years and needs to lay that burden down.

Revisado: 02-29-20
First I must say how much I LOVE Emma Wilder's narration. She does such an amazing job on women, men, and especially children. She has a gift for it. Now of course I must say how much I love this series as well as ALL of her books. Just Say Christmas is about a wedding but in preparing for it all of the characters have once again have re-appeared. It took a little bit for me to remember all the stories but they soon all came flooding back. So much that I want to go back and re-listen to them again. As always I eagerly look forward to her next book. And especially her next Audible book.
