These are the best books in my collection. Always laugh out loud Southern humor.
This narrator is simply fantastic.

Historia
Playing a high-stakes poker game should be easy for a mind-reader. But living to talk about it is another matter. Delivering a letter for a mob boss shouldn’t be dangerous. But nothing ever goes as planned for Shelby Nichols. Pulled into the clutches of a rival crime organization, Shelby uncovers information that leads her on a path toward death. The more she discovers, the worse it gets. Too late, she realizes that some secrets are meant to be kept...and others...can get her killed.

Colleen Helme's Books Rate Five Stars With Me.

What made the experience of listening to Secrets That Kill the most enjoyable?
Colleen Helme's books are so fresh and exciting. She's the best author I've read for a long time. And Wendy Tremont King is totally the right 'voice' for Shelby, (And Uncle Joey, Ramos and Dimples).
Dearly love Uncle Joey and Ramos, something I already did before I got the audio books. Now, Wow! How exciting to be able to picture these characters in my mind as the action unfolds..Colleen writes so vividly that I am right there through all Shelby's escapades. Plus, the editing for these books is fantastic. Thanks a bunch to whoever deserves that praise. I had begun to expect to have to get past grammatical errors in every book I bought whether paperback or ebook anymore.
To Colleen and the people who have helped make these books a reality ...Thank You!
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Indeed it did.
These characters are written so well. And the action is vivid but not overdone in any way.
Which character – as performed by Wendy Tremont King – was your favorite?
Of course it's Shelby.... but Uncle Joey is by far the topping on the cake for me!
Then there's Ramos' 'Hey Babe'.
I simply can't choose ONE favorite.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and I have done that with a couple of them.... 'Secrets that Kill' was one.
No part of any of these books caused me to want to fast forward.
Wendy King's voice is always right on point with character and action.
Any additional comments?
I am sharing with everyone I know who reads ebooks and might be interested in getting Audible.com... that starting with Colleen Helme will surely be a fun read.
