This Working Life is the audiobook you need to navigate your career with courage, openness and a good dose of laughter in these chaotic and uncertain times. Springing off the success of her ABC podcast, Lisa Leong, together with journalist Monique Ross, is bringing a deep curiosity to the world of work.

Coherent and fun!
Revisado: 03-29-22
The authors dive into difficult discussions in a way that coherently questions assumptions on approaches to work and life. It was free with Audible, and while it occasionally feels like a long podcast, it delivers a rhythm, insights, and accessibility to big, deep ideas that I found engaging, helpful, and entertaining.

This is quite a good book. I’d love to have different voice actors for the different voices. Story is good though !!!😝

Historia
This is a study of how intellectuals as a class affect modern societies by shaping the climate of opinion in which official policies develop, on issues ranging from economics to law to war and peace. You will hear a withering and clear-eyed critique about (but not for) intellectuals that explores their impact on public opinion, policy, and society at large.

Intellectualism at its Worst (by the author’s definition)
Revisado: 01-03-21
The author displays intellect and an extraordinarily inflated sense of his own wisdom. His diagnosis of intellectuals’ faults without applying those faults to his own premise is baffling. He also fails to grasp or (more likely) ignores how “sciences” are underpinned by intellectual thought. If the intellectuals say the world is flat, that may have an impact on science. Even though I listened to this book for free, I feel like I’ve been robbed of time and honest discourse.

Historia
From the author of Apocalyptic Planet, an unsparing, vivid, revelatory travelogue through prehistory that traces the arrival of the First People in North America 20,000 years ago and the artifacts that enable us to imagine their lives and fates. This book upends our notions of where these people came from and who they were.

Travel meets history
Revisado: 01-03-21
Colorfully written, carefully arranged, and studiously researched, this book brings poetry and personal narratives to make the subject matter come to life. The author also weaves his story into the subject matter—jumping between perspectives. The literary flavor is mixed up like Tex-Amex meets Asian or Iberian.
