A Delightful Feast for the Ears
Revisado: 01-12-24
Listen, the two hosts of this podcast have some of the most appealing, compelling, relatable banter; I actually enjoy their chats even more than I enjoy Karen and Georgia's. Also, these two women have beautiful, animated voices. If they are reading this, I wish they'd reach out to me, because I would love to talk them into narrating my audiobooks ..

Historia
The historic port of Gloucester, Massachusetts, has a special charm, due at least in part to its resident witches. For decades, raven-maned Marguerite and red-headed Beryl have lived among its hard-working inhabitants, making magic and mischief. Love and sex fuel their supernatural abilities, but duality limits their power. To reach their full potential, they need a third witch to complete their circle.

Delectable, Magical Sapphic Erotica, but...
Revisado: 04-22-23
I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review, and I enjoyed the book very much!
First of all, the narrator's voice is absolutely mesmerizing. Her diction is brilliant, and her voices is so beautiful that it almost calms me enough to put me to sleep, except that I'd much rather stay awake to hear every word she says. Strongly recommended, amazing work.
I love the characters in this story and the way they are so swiftly and clearly developed and established. My problem with a lot of erotica is that it's all sex and no character, but this story does not have that problem. All three of the protagonists are beautifully defined and deeply appealing, and I'd happily read more about them.
The sex scenes itself (and this story is primarily sex scenes) are evocative without being crude, lovely and loving and almost worshipful, and that's truly magnificent.
HOWEVER (yeah, you knew it was coming), I would have preferred a little more clear, enthusiastic consent from all partners in this story. There are a few moments where one of the witches does not give enthusiastic consent, and where she just ends up going along with it once it's happening, and that's not for me. That's the reason I'm giving four stars instead of five.

You never know what's out to get you. Though you might think you're safe from monsters and menaces, everyday objects can turn against you, too. A mysterious microwave. A threatening board game. A snowman that refuses to melt. Even your own heartbeat has its secrets. Thu-thump. Thu-thump. When you stop to listen, each beat sounds more menacing than the last.

Just the Right Amoutn of Shivers
Revisado: 11-17-22
I'm a 35-year-old-woman who loves creepy, spooky things ... but I dno't want them TOO spooky. if you're in the mood to get a copule of chills down your spine, this is a fun, well-written and charmingly unsettling series of stories, and I highly recommend it. Both of the two narrators were a joy to listen to, and they add just the right combination of realism and creepyness to the book. This is actually a great bedtime read, if you're the kind of person that enjoys a little ghost story before bed!

Let me Persuade you...
Revisado: 10-09-22
Kelly Miller's writing is like the best cup of hot cocoa - it's delicious, divine, delightful, and it's exactly what you want to relax into after a long day. This book is a charming romp through Persuasion, full of longing, magical little character moments and clean, sweet, satsifying romance. I smiled os often while listening to it that my husband kept asking me what on earth I was reading!
Get this one. You won't regret it, I promise.
The narrator is also wonderful, his voice is warm and inviting.
'Scuse me, I'm gonna go listen to this one again.

A glorious fantasy
Revisado: 07-23-22
I listened to this book on audio because I'm visually impaired, and it was a goregous experience. The narrator's voice was clear-cut and lovely to listen to, and she brought the story to tlife with perfect nuance and character. Loved every minute of this narration.
The effective worldbuilding that immersed you almost instantly was my favorite part - the rules of this world are clear from the get-go, and those rules spur the characters towards inevitable revelations and beautiful friendships that I felt good reading. There's exactly the right amount of fantasy vs. real human truths and troubles. I'm sincerely looking forward to more from Omayra Velez - I'll be first in line when the next book comes out!

Historia
On an afternoon in January 1865, a roaring fire swept through the Smithsonian Institution. Dazed soldiers and worried citizens could only watch as the flames engulfed the museum's castle. Rare objects and valuable paintings were destroyed. The flames at the Smithsonian were not the first—and certainly would not be the last—disaster to upend a museum in the United States. The Museum explores the concepts of "crisis" as it relates to museums, and how these historic institutions have dealt with challenges ranging from depression and war to pandemic and philosophical uncertainty.

FASCINATING STUFF!!!!
Revisado: 05-29-22
Okay, so this is a very, VERY cool book. You think you know museums? Wait until you hear some of this; this book is a deep dive into the intersection between museums and politics, museums and crisis control...seriously, if you are a mseum-studies enthusiast, or a poli-sci enthusiast, or you just want to learn something totally new, check out this book. I kinda want to write a short story about some of the stuff in this book...
As always, Andrew Joseph Perez does a brilliant job narrating. You can tell just by listening - he's as fascinated by the content in this book as you will be. His narration always adds so much.

A Thoughtful and Immersive Listen
Revisado: 05-29-22
I found the discussions of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy thought-provoking and valuable. I have a limited background in child psychology, but it's frankly been several yeras since I've dabbled, so this was a fascinating read for me - the book contradicted a few of the things I'd learned in the past about anger management, which was refreshing and encouraged me to do some further research. The author mentioned a few particular anger management methods that particularly spoke to me, but I'll leave those for you to discovery. Suffice it to say, I think you'll like them and may even find yourself using them in day to day life.
Andrew Joseph Perez is a favorite narrator of mine for very good reason. I could listen to the man read the phone book. Also, he clearly does a lot of solid research on every topic he discusses, so that he's not just reciting, he's sharing his own genuine understanding of the text. I'm not exactly sure how to describe it, but it makes a difference - listening to a Andrew Joseph Perez narration is an immersive experience.

An Exciting Ride!
Revisado: 05-29-22
This book has everything. I probably burned calories just listening to it on Audible it was fast ;paced, intense, and VERY STEAMY. That's both an invitation and a warning; there's a lot of butt stuff, but it's well done.
Also, narrator Julio Maxwell reads this characters with sincere, relatable personality; his work is excellent.
This is one of those books that I'd honestly say is better on Audible - Maxwell's narration really makes the experience.
