Historia
The Motorcycle Diaries is Che Guevara's diary of his journey to discover the continent of Latin America while still a medical student, setting out in 1952 on a vintage Norton motorcycle together with his friend Alberto Granado, a biochemist. It captures, arguably as much as any book ever written, the exuberance and joy of one person's youthful belief in the possibilities of humankind tending toward justice, peace, and happiness.

A True Freedom Fighter
Revisado: 02-20-24
Che Guevara is a personal hero of mine who fought for the little man against the giants of corruption and oppression. This story is one of a man who traveled with an open heart and an open mind and was impacted by the things that he had seen spread through South America, both positive and negative.

Historia
After defecting from North Korea, Yeonmi Park found liberty and freedom in America. But she also found a chilling crackdown on self-expression and thought that reminded her of the brutal regime she risked her life to escape. When she spoke out about the mass political indoctrination she saw around her in the United States, Park faced censorship and even death threats.

Understandable
Revisado: 04-14-23
It makes sense that Yeonmi Park would write a book like this. Coming from North Korea, it’s obvious that she would be against anything that would be seen as socialist/communist. Considering that the current political atmosphere in the United States is a mess, and so much going on from both the Left and the Right, a lot of people could relate to what she has to say. I liked this book but there were some things that she talked about that just seemed a little whiny. Although, there was also a lot that I agreed with. The main thing I didn’t like about this book though, was just the narration. The narrator has a really breathy way of talking that is just exhausting and annoying. Overall, I give this audiobook a 7/10.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

Historia
In Rocks, Joe Perry exposes his unrepentant, unbridled life as the lead guitarist of Aerosmith. He delves deep into his volatile, profound, and enduring relationship with singer Steve Tyler and reveals the real people behind the larger-than-life rock gods onstage. The nearly five-decade saga of Aerosmith is epic, at once a study in brotherhood and solitude that plays out on the killing fields of rock and roll.

Historia
Experience a bold take on this classic autobiography as it’s performed by Oscar-nominated Laurence Fishburne. In this searing classic autobiography, originally published in 1965, Malcolm X, the Muslim leader, firebrand, and Black empowerment activist, tells the extraordinary story of his life and the growth of the Human Rights movement. His fascinating perspective on the lies and limitations of the American dream and the inherent racism in a society that denies its non-White citizens the opportunity to dream, gives extraordinary insight into the most urgent issues of our own time.
