Historia
Unlikely tales are the most fun to tell. The long, strange trip Eddie DeGarmo has experienced over a half century in the music business is full of such stories. From playing keyboards at 10 years old in his first 1960s Memphis rock and roll band in the shadow of Graceland and Johnny Cash, to his own massive tours filling auditoriums and stadiums around the world with DeGarmo and Key, one of the first Christian rock bands. He successfully transitioned from his pioneering artist career to accomplish music executive cofounding trendsetting Forefront Records.

Trip Down Memory Lane
Revisado: 04-09-23
Really great and entertaining telling of the early days of christian rock from someone who was there on the frontlines. I saw D&K several times and their music was the soundtrack of my Bible college years so I loved hearing about each album and the behind the scenes look. Narrator did a great job as well.

Historia
During the year 1866, ships of several nations spot a mysterious sea monster, which some suggest to be a giant narwhal. The United States government assembles an expedition in New York City to find and destroy the monster. Professor Pierre Aronnax, a French marine biologist and narrator of the story, who happens to be in New York at the time, receives a last-minute invitation to join the expedition which he accepts. Canadian whaler and master harpoonist Ned Land and Aronnax's faithful servant Conseil are also brought aboard.

Good book, Great narrator!
Revisado: 12-16-22
Although dated, this was an interesting story of the demented Captain Ahab. Not as good as Verne’s other biggie “Around the World in 80 Days” in my opinion. Narrator really keeps the story going. Exceptional voices.

Imagine it were possible to bring the characters from a book to life. Not like when you listen to an audiobook with such enchantment that the characters seem to jump off the pages and into your bedroom...but for real. Imagine they could actually climb out of the pages and into our world. Then imagine if those characters brought their world into ours.

Good Movie, Great Book
Revisado: 08-10-22
I watched this movie with my kids when they were young and thought I’d check out the book for nostalgia’s sake and glad that I did. Very well thought out story and Lynn Redgrave hits a homerun as reader as usual.

Very well done and enjoyable story with excellent reader. Would’ve given it 5 stars if not for some of the unnecessary graphic sexual descriptions.

Loose Balls is, after all these years, the definitive and most widely respected history of the ABA. It's a wild ride through some of the wackiest, funniest, strangest times ever to hit pro sports -- told entirely through the (often incredible) words of those who played, wrote and connived their way through the league's nine seasons.

Historia
Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

Great Story & Writing but Narrator Steals the Show
Revisado: 07-06-21
I knew the summary story of Jane Eyre from movies etc. but had never read or listened to the book in its entirety. Bronte is a brilliant writer and the story, though familiar, is compelling. Her development of characters as well as her beautiful use of the English language makes this a worthwhile listen...but Thandie Newton's reading of the novel brings it to life like few I've listened to before. She deserves some kind of award for this! Her vocal range and acting chops really impressed me. Great job!

This is a good story but not one of Christie’s best. Too long and too many insignificant details. Emilia Fox can make anything great. She’s one of the best readers I’ve ever heard.

Historia
In January of 1973 Richard Nixon announced the end of the Vietnam War and prepared for a triumphant second term - until televised Watergate hearings revealed his White House as little better than a mafia den. The next president declared upon Nixon’s resignation “our long national nightmare is over” - but then congressional investigators exposed the CIA for assassinating foreign leaders. The collapse of the South Vietnamese government rendered moot the sacrifice of some 58,000 American lives.

Snarky Liberal Take On The 1970’s
Revisado: 03-05-21
Really disappointed with this work. It’s a back and forth presentation that is one part political and one part 70’s trivia. I like both subjects but they really just don’t work here. Plus the reader sounds like he’d be better suited for infomercials.
