Novel missed the "Maine" character, Acadia. Mount Desert Island is spectacular. Nothing on flora and fauna, natural features, trails, history of the park. Story was predictable. The narrator was awful! Screechy voices. Someone should have researched a Down East accent and coached the narrator on pronunciation. Desert was pronounced "dessert". I played that part for my husband who spent much as his childhood in Maine and he cringed. This is the first Anna Pigeon novel that I have been disappointed.

Loved it! Wonderful characterization.

Strong characters unfold throughout the story. Story has a refreshing twist to all the others out there. Narration very, very well done.
