Historia
Sea Isle was supposed to be the fresh start Dr. Emilia McRoy dreamed of. Far from the busy emergency room across the Atlantic in Seattle, she hoped to settle down and begin this new chapter as a small-town doctor to the quirky residents who immediately welcomed her. When she stumbles across a dead body, she starts to think that she may not be as Scot free of the drama and intrigue as she initially thought.

Predictable but fun
Revisado: 03-24-25
Love working my way through some of the UK’s mystery series- I enjoy hearing the ways their law enforcement works with doctors and the differences between procedures and amateur sleuthing that often results in the protagonist being targeted for death.

Love the O’Sullivan Six
Revisado: 03-15-25
It’s a fun series to listen to - a joy to hear the lilt of an Irish accent amongst the usual gruesome murder that showcases one of the seven deadly sins.

Historia
Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

Amber is a queen!
Revisado: 03-06-25
I have always enjoyed fantasy, alternative worlds, with a pinch of horror vibes kind of stories and this did NOT disappoint! Scalzi understands the unique challenges of working in customer service and then adds the intergalactic people element, scatalogical humor, and politics for a very entertaining short story audiobook which was well worth the credit spent on it! The narration was brilliant and Amber should be applauded for her range!

Historia
Daphne always loved the way her fiancé Peter told their story. How they met (on a blustery day), fell in love (over an errant hat), and moved back to his lakeside hometown to begin their life together. He really was good at telling it…right up until the moment he realized he was actually in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is how Daphne begins her new story.

Yes, sometimes books can creep up and grab your funny bone, snarky tongue, and cry-cry taps all at once and shake the bejeebers out of them. This book managed to this for me and maybe it will do the same for you.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Meaning is often found in fables and fairytales
Revisado: 06-01-24
In the deft hands of Stephen King, “Fairy Tale” reminds me of the Brothers Grimm; uncensored and particularly gory, at touch of morality liberally sprinkled in.

Not for the faint of heart

This audiobook scared the living daylights out of me, and I'm not easily spooked. If you are a fan of twisty, graphic mind-effery, this is your book. If you aren't comfortable with some of the less humane aspects of our species, perhaps you should find other listening material.
