Predictable
Revisado: 04-14-23
Maybe this was aimed more at a younger audience who still believe in rainbows and unicorns and true love that never fades; I mean its fair to think that way because the protagonists were in fact, 17 and younger. It was quite predictable, to say the least, and the love story quite sickening at times. I don't know how many times I rolled my eyes while listening. The writer used a repetitive style and often flooded the sentences with similes and adjectives it felt too technical. When I started this book, it was in the hopes of something that would make me weep while reading, but this ended up being annoying. I only finished it so I could see how ridiculous it would get, and I wasn't disappointed. The dancing app overhyped this!

Abrupt ending but great story overall.
Revisado: 01-14-22
A really good book! I loved how the story meanders and how at some points, it almost gets predictable but then the writer shocks us by moving us away in a different direction. The way the stories of the two girls are weaved together is quite exceptional but the style of writing was a bit repetitive. I love books that snuff out all the hope for a character because I mean, if you are going to read a sad book, it must be a real tear jerker! and sometimes, hope is overrated! In as much as the story had a happy ending, it was indeed abrupt. Overall; I enjoyed listening to the book, it gives you a different perspective to life.

Best book ever
Revisado: 12-10-21
One of the best audiobooks I've ever listened to! There is something about intelligent humor that is so appealing to me. I never knew "Willard Smith" in this light before and a lot about his story is very relatable. His memoir gave a voice to feelings and thoughts I've had for years without expression. This book is a masterpiece to say the very least! Well written with such attention to detail; a worthy competitor of all the greats... of all the books I've read, this memoir just ticks all the boxes, so much so I'm going to go through it again for it to be etched in my brain. To the book lovers out there, do yourself a favor this is a 10/10. He narrates his story so vividly and in such an animated way, with the added music and sound effects making the experience so magical.

Historia
'Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit 'em, but remember it's a sin to kill a mockingbird.' A lawyer's advice to his children as he defends the real mockingbird of Harper Lee's classic novel - a black man charged with the rape of a white girl. Through the young eyes of Scout and Jem Finch, Harper Lee explores with exuberant humour the irrationality of adult attitudes to race and class in the Deep South of the '30s.

Jaw dropping

Quite an interesting performance. The narrator was spot on and she had a way of making you visualise what she was saying. Everything from her accent to the enunciation was well suited for this book. I understand why this is a timeless classic and this Audible rendition did this book justice!

A disappointing experience
Revisado: 12-08-20
I found it hard to relate to this book particularly as a Zimbabwean. The narrator is not Shona speaking and I could hardly understand what she was saying most of the time which left a sour taste in my mouth each time she was trying to pronounce some of the words. Her performance was stellar in all other aspects but this one. This really throws one off. Overall the plot was good with a lot of unexpected turns, considering that it's a sequel to Nervous Conditions; although the ending was a bit rushed.
