Easy to listen to; good guys you can root for and a bad guy you can boo. By the way, I dislike the title. It sounds like a self improvement book

Historia
Florence, the 1550s. Lucrezia, third daughter of the grand duke, is comfortable with her obscure place in the palazzo: free to wonder at its treasures, observe its clandestine workings, and to devote herself to her own artistic pursuits. But when her older sister dies on the eve of her wedding, Lucrezia is thrust into the limelight: the duke is quick to request her hand in marriage, and her father just as quick to accept on her behalf. Having barely left girlhood behind, Lucrezia must make her way in a court whose customs are opaque and where her arrival is not universally welcomed.

Interesting enough to listen twice.
Revisado: 03-04-25
I loved the story and the character development enough to listen twice so that I might pick up parts I missed earlier. I also enjoyed the authors note at the end of the book. This audiobook is highly recommended for post World War II buffs.

I could not get past about an hour or so into this audiobook because the quality of the sound system. The performance might have been acceptable if performance had not been combined with the poor sound system. The story sounded interesting but not interesting enough to get past the sound quality.

Historia
On an April day in 1937, the sky opens and fire rains down upon the small Spanish town of Guernica. Seventeen-year-old Sibi and her family are caught up in the horror. Griff, an American military attaché, pulls Sibi from the wreckage, and it’s only the first time he saves her life in a span of hours. When Germany claims no involvement in the attack, insisting the Spanish Republic was responsible, Griff guides Sibi to lie to Nazi officials. If she or her sisters reveal that they saw planes bearing swastikas, the gestapo will silence them—by any means necessary.

Character development and story are outstanding.
Revisado: 03-04-25
This World War II saga comes from a different point of view than others I have read. The 007 like hero is the most unrealistic character, but still entertaining and likable. Overall, I rate performance and story excellent. I highly recommend this audiobook.

Historia
Juliet only wanted to see her childhood home one more time–to look at it from the street. She never intended to meet the new owners, let alone talk her way into a position as their new live-in nanny. But it's too late now to tell the truth about who she really is. Six-year-old Kitty has progressive mutism and cannot speak. Nobody knows why she keeps making silent phone calls to the police. Juliet makes it her mission to find out. As Juliet settles into the house, nostalgia for her childhood gives way to uneasiness, as troubling memories surface.

If this was the author‘s first novel , in my opinion, she may have promise. I liked the plot, but too many occurrences were so implausible it strains the imagination, even for fiction.
