Historia
Language defines us as a species, placing humans head and shoulders above even the most proficient animal communicators. But it also beguiles us with its endless mysteries, allowing us to ponder why different languages emerged, why there isn't simply a single language, how languages change over time and whether that's good or bad, and how languages die out and become extinct.

Great course
Revisado: 04-29-21
This was an extremely interesting course. The first half is especially interesting. The second half is a bit scary, talking about all of the DNA experimentation that's going on! The lecture is very easy to listen to and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed this book.

Only good for very new / young litigation lawyers
Revisado: 04-29-21
I was rather disappointed in this book. I was hoping for some good information and suggestions applicable to lawyers in general. Instead, it was very focused upon litigation and the thoughts and ideas work supremely basic. This might be good for a baby lawyer just starting out or someone new to litigation, but for anyone with a few years under their belt or not involved in litigation or dealing with in house counsel, it's pretty much a waste of time.

John Perry’s insights and laugh-out-loud humor bring to mind Thurber, Wodehouse, and Harry Frankfurt’s On Bullshit. This charming and accessible audio educates, entertains, and illuminates a universal subject. Procrastinators will be relieved to learn that you can actually accomplish quite a lot while procrastinating. In fact, the book itself is the result of Perry avoiding grading papers, refereeing academic proposals, and reviewing dissertation drafts. It also has a practical side, offering up advice that listeners can put to use.

Did you know that most of our dinosaur fossils were discovered because two grown men absolutely hated each other? It’s true! Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World is a riotous audio exclusive, like if Monty Python taught your history class. Each volume of four 30-minute histories will dig into the petty name-calling and grumbling grudges that led to many of the world’s greatest advancements, all delivered with a cheeky sense of humor. Choose sides: Cope or Marsh, the jerks who discovered so many dinosaurs; Hamilton or Burr, whose rivalry fueled American politics; and many more....

This was an interesting little book that teaches you some history along with interesting information about the feuds got it covers. The narrator is awesome to listen to. The stories themselves, could have been a bit shorter. But overall it was a nice lesson while on the treadmill

Stories were not as good as expected. Not enough suspense or clues or deduction. Cumberbatch narration was wonderful though.
