Historia
Legendary "space statesman" Buzz Aldrin speaks out as a vital advocate for the continuing quest to push the boundaries of the universe as we know it. As a pioneering astronaut who set foot on the moon during mankind’s first landing with Apollo 11 - and an aerospace engineer who designed an orbital rendezvous technique critical to future planetary landings - Aldrin has a vision, and in Mission to Mars he plots out the path he proposes, one that will take humans to Mars by 2035.

Great narrator, but terrible story
Revisado: 04-06-21
So far, it seems the author is justifying going to Mars INSTEAD of the moon because of...? There are so many reasons why we should focus on exploring Mars as a more viable place for humans than the moon, but this book does not tell us about those. Instead, it seems to focus on a narrow argument about exploration (oh the moon, we’ve been there, so we should use our money to go someplace else now) and commercial value. The narrator however is amazing and may be the only reason I listened to the whole book.

Historia
Humanity is on an astronomical trajectory and according to aerospace professional and popular science communicator Kellie Gerardi, that future doesn’t rest solely on the shoulders of rocket scientists. Gerardi’s non-traditional path in the space industry shows us that humanity’s next giant leap will require the contributions of artists, engineers, and everyone in between. Gerardi takes us on a tour of this unique window in history and offers encouragement and advice for anyone who has ever dreamed of the stars and galaxies far, far away.

Most readable (and easy to listen to) space book
Revisado: 03-27-21
I’m not a space nut...at least, I haven’t been in 25 years. Listening to this story reminded me of the reasons why space is interesting and important, to every human being. If the STEM graduates reading this book feel like this book degrades their achievements, I want to say it doesn’t. What it does though is remind everyone that space is not exclusive to those who possess a specific kind of knowledge (or skin color, university degree, and so on). Space belongs to everyone who dares to reach for it. And this book is a powerful reminder of our place in this exploration. Is it popular culture? Maybe...but it’s also filled with facts and realities that are written in engaging prose, so its never boring. Per aspera
