Seriously who approved the female narrator?!?!

This was excruciatingly painful to listen to. Teddy Hamilton was the saving grace and the sole reason I pushed forward and didn’t add this to the DNF list!! She sounded so nasally and whiney and didn’t sound anything like the Celeste I imagined. I will never listen to anything she narrates in the future.

As for the story it was ok but seemed quite a bit drawn out. I don’t recall a time I rooted against a couple but this one I did. I could not stand Celeste and honestly Zane deserved better. I’ve liked the rest of the series so far and am looking forward to Lexington and Raya’s story.

WTH is with the background NOISE!!!

The story was ok and the narrators are great. I’m going to be honest that I almost DNF because of the background noise! Yes NOISE! The music and background sounds came off more as noise and it was VERY distracting. Initially I thought something was broken and closed out the app and restarted it to try and fix the problem. Also the absolute disrespect of putting anything over Troy Duran’s velvety voice is criminal!!! I pray this isn’t something that is going to be included in her other audiobooks because I’ll have to pass if it is.

It was okay’ish… 🫣😬🥴

I’m going to be honest this started to get struggle. This seemed to excessively drag out. Like OMG at times the same thing was said three different times in three consecutive sentences. There were parts where the FMC was annoying and there didn’t seem to be much character development. I literally almost DNF and ended up speaking up to 1.75 speed at points. While I was willing to give the next book a chance I absolutely and unequivocally cannot listen to it because the male narrator’s voice was like nails on a chalkboard for me. It just sounded like he was trying so hard to make his voice low and it just didn’t work for me. Maybe I’ll just read the next one and see if it’s any better.

Great series!! I couldn’t put it down!!!

I absolutely loved this story. I’m going to be honest that sometimes the FMC did get on my nerves with her holier than thou attitude at times, but I love that got it together! I went through this series in less than 3 days!! It was so good. I was in the hair salon being all types of dramatic when certain things came and plot twists got me. 😆

Great story but what a roller coaster 🎢

Obsessed with this series so far. This one was an emotional roller coaster because there were times I was PISSED at the FMC! Her immaturity and naivety was driving me up the wall. If I could’ve gone into the book and slap her I would’ve. I mean seriously how do we go from virgin to damn near a garden tool so quickly? Her constant internal question of “is this happening” had me yelling out “NO it’s not ‘happening’ you’re the one doing it”. I was rolling my eyes so hard!!! I was definitely loving the MMC this book.

I’ve been blowing through this series!! I love these narrators, they’re great!!! I was so captivated by the story and the banter is top tier!!! Would definitely recommend!!

Umm what was that???

I love Eva Winners but what was that? I just finished The Exception which was top tier one of my top five but then this was just NOT it!! The constant back and forth between past and present was dizzying and the story was just meh. I definitely felt like it drug out way too long. I literally started begging for it to end and finally spend up the speed to 1.75. The FMC got on my last nerves!!! Like seriously!!! Now as for the narrators, I love me some Aiden Snow but Brooke just wasn’t doing it for me. I don’t know if it’s her cadence or how she narrates but it just didn’t seem to fit the story. It’s so hard for me to grasp the fast that The Exception and this book came from the same author. It took everything for me to not add this to the DNF list and honestly this book makes me not want to finish the series. I was genuinely disappointed!! Now I’m conflicted about finishing the rest of the series which is sad because it started out ridiculously strong with The Exception.

OBSESSED!!!!

Excellent book!!! 🎧 Both the story and the performance were superb. Troy Duran NEVER disappoints!!! If he’s in it, I WILL listen. This story had me laughing, gasping, swooning, frustrated, and relieved. I swear I wish I could unhear it so I can listen to it for the first time all over again. This has shot to one of my top five books for sure!!! Chef’s kiss 👩🏽‍🍳🤌🏽 On to the next in the series!!

The story was okayish….

This was my first and last Kenya Wright book. The story was alright, it was a tad bit predictable in some parts and over the top ridiculous in other parts. As for the audiobook Troy carried the performance!! I swear I would pay to listen to him read ingredients labels!! The female narrator was monotone and very emotionless!!! To avoid adding this to the DNF list I ended up speeding up her parts and going back to the normal speed for Troy’s part. I’m so glad this didn’t cause a credit because I would’ve been mad.

Wow, it was great but hear me out….

This was a GREAT story. It had me completely captivated. I love the different POVs and what an exceptional duet performance. I am obsessed with Troy Duran!!! My biggest frustration and complaint is that one part that I felt was completely unnecessary. I almost stopped right there but I was the second to last chapter. It was recovered, but I still feel like it was unnecessary and made me irrationally upset. Overall it really was a GREAT story.
