Historia
The fifth book in the NYT best-selling Expanse series, Nemesis Games drives the crew of the Rocinante apart, and as they struggle to survive, the inner planets fall victim to an enemy's catastrophic plan. A thousand worlds have opened, and the greatest land rush in human history has begun. As wave after wave of colonists leave, the power structures of the old solar system begin to buckle. Ships are disappearing without a trace. Private armies are being secretly formed. The sole remaining protomolecule sample is stolen.

A book recommended to me by a friend
Revisado: 11-19-21
*Mild spoiler at the bottom*The book is a medium fantasy, somewhere between the high fantasy of say "howls moving castle" and a low fantasy like "game of thrones". There is magic and there are magical creatures but the feel of the world is mostly of the mundane as we experience in the real world. The elements are there to be a high fantasy but they aren't tapped yet in this book however, I have a feeling the series will feel high fantasy later on. Character development and sprinkled plot points that come together later on are nicely done and with the exception of the mild spoiler in a moment an overall fantastic book. Keep in mind the plot point that I refer to in no way makes this a bad book and I actually believe it greatly makes the book fantastic it was just unexpected is all.*spoiler below*

Okay so I didn't expect this to be a book a love story. The premise described to me by my friend, as this was a referral, as well as the general opening didn't imply love story to me but it did end up being a key component of the novel. I think the handling of it didn't end up feeling like it took away anything from the gravity of the situation but I'm not one for casual sex scenes in my fantasy novels. Personal opinion of course as even then I still feel like it made the story better and by the end of the book when all the loose ends are brought together it stands out as a key component to the story.

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

as a 26 year old it was nice to finally finish this series I started as a kid. I'm always busy and to "read" this 30 minutes at a time driving to and from work every day is a pleasantry we didn't have so available growing up or in other generations.

Revisado: 05-09-21
I loved the book and I'm soo happy I heard it on audiobook instead of reading it. I read the first one but mailed both books 1 and 2 to my cousin and just used a credit on this one. Anyway this book changes from 1st to 3rd person so much and changes timelines I'm glad I listened to it because hitting the back 30 seconds to re-hear some shit my brain didn't catch the first time is so much better than reading it over again and still not getting it because you tunnel vision on the part you didn't get which doesn't help. The reader did distinct voices for each person so it was super easy to always know who was speaking each part as well. Overall amazing

i love the historical references that give you good timelines of when evemts take place. checkpoints so you know how much time has passed and even culture benchmarks that tell of how life was and what norms were common. i will absolutely read again.
