Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Fun listen, but long ending
Revisado: 02-22-24
I enjoyed the mystery of the story, and the humor was definitely my style, bit of goofy, bit of dry, bit of raunchy. Though come the last couple hours it felt too dragged out for my tastes. Still, I enjoyed the ending, but a bit predictable in the latter half. Overall, if you enjoy mysteries, humor, qnd supernatural happenings, definitely worth a shot.

Historia
In August of 1914, the British ship Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months, Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world. Lansing describes how the men survived a 1,000-mile voyage in an open boat across the stormiest ocean on the globe and an overland trek through forbidding glaciers and mountains.

An outstanding show of will power and optimism
Revisado: 11-30-23
While there are most certainly tragic events and tough battles as expected from a survival story. But the way the men maintain spirits even in the darkest times is amazing.

Not quite my cup of tea
Revisado: 04-04-23
Found the plot to be okay overall. But I'm not a huge fan of hanholdy plots, so the book felt a lot longer than necessary, and overall inaccuracies to real life made it difficult to take the story fully seriously. I just couldn't suspend my disbelief for long enough periods to not find myself questioning stuff. I'm sure this book is for someone, I'd say if you like more predictable stories try it out, but I can't say I stuck with it.

Historia
Gabriel Delling might call himself a professional con artist, but when walking superstitions start trying to bite his face off, his charm is shockingly unhelpful. It turns out living nightmares almost never appreciate a good joke. Together with a succubus who insists on constantly saving his life, Gabe desperately tries to survive a new reality that suddenly features demons, legends, and a giant locust named Dale - all of whom pretty much hate his guts. And when an ancient horror comes hunting for a spirit locked in his head, Gabe finds himself faced with the excruciating choice between death...or becoming some kind of freaking hero.

A solid story
Revisado: 12-23-22
I really enjoyed this one. Some parts felt pretty similar to other stories I've heard in the past, but at the same time, I overanalyze every story I listen to. If you enjoy urban fantasy, consider checking it out, it gets a bit slow from time to time, but hey, ain't that just books for ya.
I'm looking forward to listening to the next one, especially with hints at a sci-fi side to the universe as well. Overall, I wouldn't say it's the most unique urban fantasy I've heard, but it's one of the better executed ones I've listened to. The main character is enjoyable, and it got a few chuckles out of me.
With all the worldbuilding done in this book, I'm really hoping book 2 doesn't start from scratch on that front.
Ultimately, if you enjoy both lighthearted, and dramatic urban fantasy, this one's got both, with lots of potential.

Unexpectedly amazing
Revisado: 07-07-22
This one was a real emotional rollercoaster. I don't listen to a whole lot of stories since a lot can often feel redundant. But the description intrigued me so I decided to give it a listen. The more it went on, the more I wanted to figure out what was gonna happen.
It's been a while since an author was able to catch me off guard with plot developments, but Luke Smitherd, well holy shit, mans definitely hit me with some unexpected developments.
I recommend this book to people who enjoy surrealism, a bit of romance, some drama and a kick of action at the end. What can I say, it was unexpectedly amazing.

First Luke Smitherd book
Revisado: 06-21-22
This was in my recommended due to some of my listening habits like, tales from the gas station and, not even bones.
I am happy to say that the summary didn't do this story justice. This was one hell of a roller coaster, and while the first few chapters were slow, once it got going, it took off. This was definitely worth the credit, and I will definitely be checking out more of his books.

But when she decides to save her mother's victim, she ends up sold in his place - because Nita herself isn't exactly "human". Good story
Revisado: 04-11-22
If you're wondering whether you'll like this or not, think of a comic book written by an r/nosleep author. It was enjoyable, only complaint is that the narrator will sometimes say a word rather than doing the sound, like saying "sigh" instead of sighing. However, the comical nature of the narrator does fit the style of story.

Really great story
Revisado: 03-14-22
As far as interesting concepts go, I really loved this one. The entire premise is well done and I never questioned if what was happening made sense. The story never veered from what it initially set up and every aspect of the story flowed well. If you're looking for an interesting tale on the heist genre, this is definitely one you need to check out.
