Extraordinary

Exceptional character development and storytelling combined with spot-on narration, Hayes has a history as an accomplished writer, but even so, this is extraordinary for a first novel. I am a thriller veteran and this up there with the best of them. It is a patient listen, expertly read by Ragland, hitting all the right notes as the drama peaks. There is so much depth and detail that I would actually listen to it again, and I have never considered that with any other book.

Great story and loved the narrator

Unlike others, I thought that the Maria Elena Infantino's non-native pronunciations and glitches in emphasis were charming and lent authenticity to a story that takes place across time and cultures. Since so much of the story is set in Italy, her genuine Italian accent was just perfect and kept me focused in time and place. It felt like true story-telling. I look forward to finding more by Ms. Infantino.
