Once that’s done, all he needs is a few more levels and to finish off his bucket list of vanities before it’s time to evolve. The evolution itself will have no surprises, right?

If you are worried about negative reviews
Revisado: 10-28-22
First of all I must say I really enjoyed it. I was worried about the negative reviews and while I understand where the annoyance with the narration I was able to ignore it. The main issue for me was interjection of a different “system” voice that popped up any time a skill was uttered. It is weird and jarring and I really hope that doesn’t continue. It is ignorable though and happens less towards the end of the book. Also some of the voices in the beginning were obnoxious even some of the main characters but they soften as the book goes on.
Additionally it is a story initially published on royal road I’m pretty sure and like many stories that are originally published on there (but not all) the author takes a little to find their voice or you could just simply say they improve. It doesnt start off bad, in fact it starts off good, but it gets better and more interesting as the world grows and you get introduced to more of the setting.
I dont write reviews often but I was almost scared off of this book and I’m really glad I gave it a shot because I really enjoyed it and will listen to whatever comes out next.

Historia
Jebediah Trapper is a ticking time bomb. After sort of saving the day months ago, he's got a nuclear bomb attached to him in the Fate Dimension, where magic and potential collide. Jeb just wants to defuse himself before he collapses into a sickly pile of green goo or ignites in a city-destroying blast. There's just one problem: The world doesn't slow down because you've got a nuclear hangnail. Mab, Queen of the Fae wants him for unknown, yet most likely sinister reasons. A mysterious, abhorrent entity is making him an offer he can't refuse, and the undead are getting organized.

Historia
Without so much as a warning, humanity in its entirety was suddenly moved to another dimension. Every person, without exception. But this new world, with all its opportunities and gifts of wondrous abilities, was a stadium. A deadly arena of an unimaginable scale. And humanity was to be its latest gladiators. Every man, woman, and child was given a weapon and ordered to fight. Stuck in this dimension without a way out, only two options existed for the would-be hunters: Fight with monsters to complete the many trials ahead, or perish.

Great simple litrpg
Revisado: 02-08-22
This was something i hadnt encountered before which is one reason I liked it. It was much simpler than i am used to. One of the reasons is the stats are broken down fairly simply which is nice and the increases are not overly explained. The author gives a brief explanation but knows that most readers will understand. There isnt an overly in depth explanation of things for people unfamiliar with the genre or ttrpgs or video games in general.
I also like that it is pretty simple in the character relationships. There is a single through character and his group changes every time. Its kind of like this guy is going through a bunch of one shot dnd campaigns with different party members.

Historia
After the Wolfman nation is shattered, Jaxon has enough spare time to advance his skills and specialize into a better class. Since Joe and his other teammates are either incapacitated or on a mission Jaxon does not believe in, the misunderstood chiropractor-turned-gamer strikes out on his own. The issue with creating your own path is that you have no idea what awaits you, especially when low charisma guarantees legendary misunderstandings. For Jaxon, that’s half the fun.

Couldnt finish it
Revisado: 10-11-19
This really is an incomplete review. I love Dakota Krout’s other books but here the main character really frustrated me. Its part of who he is so i get it but its really hard to listen to a book about a guy who isnt able to interact with the world correctly. He makes a good side character in his other books but as a main character i couldn’t finish it

No more reality TV. Finally, he's in a place where he can call home, a place with people he can call friends. Decent enough, but I don’t like the main character
Revisado: 10-11-19
This first book and the ones after are decent. I like the leveling speed which keeps things tempered and not overpowered but the story itself isnt very interesting and i just don’t the main character. The author seems to try and force him to make decisions like this was a game and suggests that he feels like he is in a game but is inconsistent in the way he interacts with the world. Its kind fo frustrating to listen through. There is a good basis here and i like some of the side characters but overall there are better options.
