The kind who'll bring me deliciously naughty pleasure in dark corners. But as the clock ticks to midnight, he finds me, whisks me away to a secret alcove, and delivers all that dirty bliss and then some. Joe and Shane are amazing in this performance
Revisado: 10-14-20
Let’s talk audio performance by narrators. Joe and Shane were amazing both talented actors and narrators and they don’t let you down in this story. The female narrators were not as skilled. Emma Wilder was not consistent with her performance at some points she did good at other times she would get rushed or too dramatic and kind of loud. Wesleigh tone sounded fake and too dramatic not my preference for the female narrators.
I love Lauren’s books she is a talented author with masterful storytelling in romance with steam. I even preordered this book. This particular story wasn’t my favorite of hers but it could have been some of the previous narration problems discussed above that turned me off to this story. I think I will read it next and see if my opinion changes.
Overall I recommend this book with 4 Stars!

Revisado: 10-13-20
Overall Mia Sheridan is an amazing story teller unfortunately for me this one is not my favorite of her books. It seemed to drag in parts and be rushed in other parts. I have read over ten of her books and though summary details about this book sounded good the full story fell short. Trigger warnings graphic description of child and animal cruelty that I honestly had to fast forward through as it was to difficult. I think the author could have included information about their backgrounds with a little less detail. ( my opinion only) for some this may not be a trigger.
Now for performance the male Narrator did a pretty good job but could be monotone in some areas. The female narrator did not perform well her speech pattern was flat, fast and her tone was child like. I think this was bad casting for this role. I think she is more suited for young 10-12 year old characters. Every once in a while her octave and speed would change but only for a short spell then it was back to the not appropriate tone or age. It was so distractive it may have made me like the entire book less.
Overall Mia has so many great stories read by amazing narrators I would just skip this one!

Every bartender should follow one simple rule—don't go home with the customers. That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar—also known as me.

Shane and Joe two of my favorite narrators really bring Lauren’s epic love story to life. I so loved all the extras on this recording as well especially the bloopers that made me laugh out loud. This is a performance you don’t want to miss, swoon worthy and steamy with a HEA ending!

Great Story by Mia Sheridan
Revisado: 10-08-20
What was my favorite part of the story? I loved it when Annaila finally tell Preston at the party she wants him not his brother. After screaming at the characters for so long to please get out of their internal dialogue and tell people what you feel you finally get a little bit of truth telling in that scene.
What was something that could be improved? I really wasn’t a fan of the female narrator. Her casting was off point. She sounded like a 10-12 year old girl through out her characters life span as well as she read very fast pace, like she was in a hurry. The male narrator was great in his male storytelling but his alternative voices for women were off point and the 40’s something parents sounded 75 with shaky voices? I did overall enjoy his chapters much more than the female narrator.
Overall comments: Mia Sheridan is an amazing story teller and this story doesn’t fall short. I am a new fan and am addicted to her stories. This is part of a series but is totally stand-alone. The story is what I called a life span saga. Where the characters go from very young age and you join them in the journey thorough out life. The two H/H characters do a lot of internal dialogue and I found myself frustrated at points with them for causing themselves years of pain for not speaking up for their true feelings. You know the characters you continue to wonder about at the end of a great book well that’s the H/H. Throughout the story these two find much tragedy, sadness and missed opportunities but eventually find each other for a very sweet romantic love story with a HEA!
There are a few triggers for some I should mention rape involving pregnancy resulting in a child. Death of sibling., Death of a parent, classisms as well as clear racism, and bullying to the heroine. Even though these topics are addressed and maybe trigger the author treats them with much respect and research showing the characters in real life situations.
Overall rating: storyline and characters amazing 5 star plus!
Overall narration: I would say the cast wasn’t suited for this story in that the immature sound of the female narrator was super fast and sounded very young in all stages of her characters life. She would be great for YA novels. Her voice is pleasant and eventually I got used to her fast speed of reading. The male narrator was great as Preston but he did no work on development of his alternative characters. They are flat with nothing closed to their description in the book. He was a very good Preston and for that I give him high marks. Overall three stars for narration. ( I say all this as only a fan, I could never do a better job myself in narration and don’t pretend I could this is just my opinion and I think the biggest problem wasn’t the narrators but was casting of these characters was poorly done)
Overall story rating: absolutely loved this family saga. With frustration, sadness, love and redemption Mia Sheridan does a great job. This is one of the books that leaves you satisfied with a well rounded and HEA ending. I am a huge fan and highly recommend this book!

Great Book
Revisado: 10-03-20
I loved this book, the characters are well developed and the author gets you sucked in right from the beginning. I pretty much devoured the book in one day. My one thought is the ending was a bit rushed. I would have liked a bit more details in the end, but I still would absolutely recommend this book. I think there is another couple of books that could be developed from this sleepy sweet midwestern town, maybe the author will tell us more about the characters you fall in love with in this story. Can’t wait to read more by this author this was my first book of Mia Sheridan’s collection.

Historia
I wanted to lose myself in the small town of Pelion, Maine. To forget everything I had left behind. The sound of rain. The blood. The coldness of a gun against my skin. For six months, each breath has been a reminder that I survived—and my dad didn't. I'm almost safe again. But the moment I meet Archer Hale, my entire world tilts on its axis . . . and never rights itself again. Until I trespass into his strange, silent, and isolated world, Archer communicates with no one. Yet in his whiskey-colored eyes, something intangible happens between us.

Wonderful story
Revisado: 09-30-20
I love this series. Each are stand alone books this one is number 4 in the series. Penny and L.H. did a great job writing together. I loved learning about all the Rugby team friends. The male narrator, Paul Corning, did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. As most of the other reviews point out the female narrator was just awful. I thought at first my audible app had moved to 1.5 speed. She sounds like a young girl of five or six reading at fast speed. It’s just so difficult to listen to her. I wonder what the producers were thinking, there is no way anyone would listen to her narration and think that was a good job.

Look, it wasn’t even my idea. But that’s hardly an excuse for agreeing to teach my best friend’s little sister how to win a man. But like I was going to let some other guy in the city help the deliciously awkward and ridiculously sexy woman figure out the ways of men? My unquenchable (and very secret) desire for Harper aside, she’s my good friend too. What’s the big deal if I give her a fake (but it feels real) kiss on the street? Or if I help her learn how to dirty text?
