Mostly an absolute bore. Jumps 20y, skipping all the interesting things that could have lead to the present and then told you a bunch of pointless stuff until the whoopsie that finally brings the story forward but surprise! It's over. Gotta get the next book. These 3 could probably be 1 will written book

I was joking with a friend about how in America we're just a bunch of Guinea pigs... They keep changing the facts of parenting and education every 15 years because those "facts" were total bs. Turns out I was right. This book is so disturbing to start and such a relief to read through. These ideas are solid, effective, functional, and PROVEN for generations. If you've ever felt like this whole western parenting thing is disfunctional and in your heart and soul you feel like there's a better way... It's because there is and you're in tune with those ancestors of ours. You'll enjoy this book.
Now to practice shutting up and not controlling everything!

... This is hilarious. I'm not sure who had more fun with this- Molles, Aiello, or me! It's certainly got enough themes on society, government, and religion to be a whole college course but it's also just a beautiful story about love and forgiveness. I love when Molles steps out of the darkness of our beloved Harden to bring us the random interesting things he thinks up. Top tier narrating is really the icing on this cake.

I feel like most people missed the point of this book!! So many claim they read the other books but don't even mention the Squale!! Clines is just giving us an origins story of how those other universes met their demise. And sure, maybe our heros aren't what we envision, but they get the job done! I really enjoyed another book with both "ah ha!" and "ooooh sh!t" moments happening simultaneously.

This is such a new Lee that I'm brought back to The Remaining and almost wanting to reread Primal just to touch on the anger and blood lust again. This life of wandering hero, away from politics, suits him though and opens the door to all sorts of new episodic chaos. I love it!
