Historia
For decades, Nick Burns has been haunted by a decision he made as a young soldier in World War I, when a French artist he’d befriended thrust both her paintings and her baby into his hands—and disappeared. In 1974, with only months left to live, Nick enlists Jenny, a college dropout desperate for adventure, to help him unravel the mystery. The journey leads them from Paris galleries and provincial towns to a surprising place: the Museum of Tears, the life’s work of a lonely Italian craftsman.

Loved the story. Sped up the reading
Revisado: 04-26-25
It took me like four chapters to get into this book. Finally I sped up the narration and all was well. I enjoyed the twists and turns and character development. I wish these were real people because I'd have to go hug them all.

Spectacular performance and story!!!
Revisado: 04-26-25
I love John Scalzi more with every book. I'm new to science fiction stories. These may be tired and rehashed to other people who are scifi fans but I think they're original concepts and LOVE THEM. I was sucked in!!! Completely sucked in. And happy endings don't hurt

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Totally interesting concept. Loved the story
Revisado: 04-26-25
I'm accustomed to hearing Wil Wheaton when listening to John Scalzi. This change up was amazing because it's an entirely new character and Zachary Quinto did a beautiful job. I really enjoyed this story concept and the pairing of the streetwise main character with the more naive police officer (in my opinion anyway). Also. Being set in Chicago was amazing especially as I was driving to Chicago while listening!!! Also. There's a whole lot more to Illinois than Chicago for those from anywhere else. Listen to this story!!! It's terrific!!

I really enjoy the relationship between the three heroines. The mooching Wicker Man and archenemy across the street. I'm glad the tinnitus is kept to a minimum and IT doesn't rear it's horrible head often

Harlan Coben never disappoints
Revisado: 11-22-24
I'm so happy to hear more about Wild. Or is it Wilde? Or Wylde? At any rate I was sucked in. I was totally shocked by the twist ending. Also, I just love Hester. I hear her voice in my head sometimes. I mean, Steven Weber voicing her. Stephen Weber is the best Harlan Coben narrator. Ahhhh cheesy smile on my face the rest of the day. Good job on this book.

Historia
Agent Isaac Steele has problems. He spends all his splibs on drink and drugs. He has some deep-seated and very much unresolved issues with his parents. And his robotic partner at Greatest Britain’s Department of Clarification, Dr Timothy Stephens, is ruled more by his heart than his hard drive. But all these issues take a back seat when Isaac stumbles upon a case involving the most sensitive information in the cosmos - a Never File, inaccessible to all except those with the highest clearance. He is expressly forbidden to involve himself. So naturally he does.

Clever and vulgar
Revisado: 11-20-24
I couldn't finish it. Because I can't tolerate a lot of harsh language. The story was very clever and the narrator was terrific. And fun sound effects! Just wish it had less vulgar language. And drug use.

Revisado: 09-08-24
I enjoyed the story. I got caught up in it. However. My eyes glazed over some in the descriptions. I appreciated them because I've never been to Maine and I felt like I was there. But at the same time there were times I felt like the story dragged with them.

What just happened??
Revisado: 12-08-22
I'm listening happily and then I think I had a stroke. I rewind and listen to the same area in chapter four. Apparently I didn't have a stroke. I missed ten days of the story. He's deposing Victor Markham and then Wallace has finished his opening statements. So. Maybe the author had a stroke? Or the narrator? Are there going to be additional time warps in the story? Is this a dream?

Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Whew that was quite a ride
Revisado: 12-20-21
Don’t we all want to go back and see how things could be different? I’ll admit I almost didn’t listen to this book. The beginning is deeply morose. I have major depression and it was very realistic to how I’ve felt so much of my life. I’m so glad I kept listening. It’s a moving and enlightening story. Give it a chance.
