Historia
When five New Yorkers receive an anonymous, mysterious invitation to the Fifth Avenue Story Society, they suspect they’re victims of a practical joke. No one knows who sent the invitations or why. No one has heard of the literary society. And no one is prepared to reveal their deepest secrets to a roomful of strangers. Yet curiosity and loneliness bring them back week after week to the old library. And it’s there they discover the stories of their hearts, and the kind of friendship and love that heals their souls.

Love this!
Revisado: 04-22-25
What a pleasant surprise! This is my first book by this author and will not be my last. The character development and growth was strong, and the description of newfound faith in Jesus was gentle, realistic, and not woven into every chapter as some authors do. The author perfectly described the Devine guidance that she received while writing which may explain why the read was so enjoyable!

So Enjoyable!
Revisado: 03-25-25
This was my first book by this author, but the reviews convinced me to try it and I fully agree with all of the excellent reviews! It was fun, funny, not too predictable, and a happy ending-perfect spring read. The narrator was great with female characters, but the male characters seemed to be a challenge, as one can imagine. Highly recommend!

Excellent Narration
Revisado: 03-21-25
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and will try another, but this one seemed overly depressing. I know that times were extremely difficult, but surely there could be at least one happy ending with so many characters!

Outstanding Story and Narration!

I truly loved this book and was sad every time I had to pause for the responsibilities of life!
I’ve always enjoyed Kate Morton’s books, but this narrator was so incredible that it took this story to the next level. I cannot fully express how much I enjoyed this experience!

Historia
Charlie Jonquil is mild-mannered and kind — except when it comes to his one true adversary, Artemis Lancaster. Though Charlie has a brilliant mind for mathematics, Artemis poses a problem he can’t seem to comprehend: How can one be so lovely and so infuriating? A party in London brings him into the company of the maddening young lady, and it is clear that Charlie’s disdain is mutual. But when an unfortunate incident between the pair involving Charlie’s jacket and a glass of raspberry shrub leads to scandal, the sworn enemies are left with only two options.

Sweet Story
Revisado: 12-29-24
Sweet and clean story with good narration. The end dragged on a bit about the seeming perfection of the deceased family member, but a nice, easy read during stressful seasons that benefit by a break from intense plots!

Evokes every human emotion!
Revisado: 11-26-24
As other reviewers mentioned, it seemed slow in the middle, but picked back up and I couldn’t stop listening. The narration was excellent and the story made me laugh, cry, and ashamed of the way some humans seem to feel justified in treating others. Mariah’s unwavering faith and personal resilience were foundational to the excellent storyline.
