Gregg giving victims a voice - PHENOMENAL
Revisado: 02-28-24
This is so different from anything that Gregg Olsen has ever done. Narrating his own books???? It's amazing. Gregg Olsen has such a great, phenomenal storytelling voice. I remember after "If You Tell" came out that many people came out about their stories and he decided to give them a voice. Bravo Gregg! This was so well done! You find yourself just sitting there listening to the stories with shock and outrage. Some of us can relate to a lot of the abuse that these women went through at the hands of their narcissistic mothers. I hope there will be more to this series. I will say this has a trigger warning because of the content...

Completely blown away!
Revisado: 05-29-20
After the 1st book in this series I was completely into the Megan Carpenter character. So much so that I went back to read a couple of Gregg's earlier books where Megan was introduced as a different character. I think that made this book all the more appealing for me as I LOVE reading series. Megan's character is so believable that you almost feel like you are her while you're reading. The fact that she still has a stalker from her past making her look over her shoulder and now has to deal with a rookie cop that she has to bring with her everywhere added quite a nice twist to the story. I always think I know who the killer is until I get to the very end and Olsen has to put the twist in there. Knowing that there is a serial killer on the loose put you on the edge of your seat as is 2 characters, Megan and Ronnie close in on him. The events at the end will have your heart pounding!!!

Historia
The tragic story of Susan Powell and her murdered boys, Charlie and Braden, is the only case that rivals the Jon Benet Ramsey saga in the annals of true crime. When the pretty, blonde Utah mother went missing in December of 2009 the media was swept up in the story - with lenses and microphones trained on Susan's husband, Josh. He said he had no idea what happened to his young wife, and that he and the boys had been camping in the middle of a snowstorm.

Murder, perversion, insanity all wrapped up in one
Revisado: 01-17-20
Beautiful Susan Powell went missing in December of 2009. This was an amazing true story very well written by Gregg Olsen that tells the story of how Susan went missing after being so mentally abused by her husband Josh Powell. Many more details in this book that I didn't know happened. Josh swore he had nothing to do with her disappearance but as each bombshell was revealed there story got more sickening. How can people do the things they do to someone they are supposed to love is beyond me. The poor children Charlie and Braden paid the ultimate price for having a psychotic father and sickening grandfather.

Historia
A distraught 20-year old Jett Carter shows up at the Ryan house because her mother and sister are imprisoned - perhaps if Kevin writes their story and reveals the truth, he might help exonerate them. The Carters' tale is the perfect white-trash-attempted-murder-love-triangle that Kevin’s editor will love and his fans will devour. He begins to write "Love You to Death." Then on a beautiful summer day, the wheels of homicide are set in motion and Kevin’s own story begins to eclipse the crime he is chronicling.

INFIDELITY, LIES, BETRAYAL...who can you trust??
Revisado: 05-23-19
First of all let me say thanks to Net Galley for allowing me to early review this book. I have read it twice already! What an intense story line! Gregg Olsen has done it again! A couple having problems in their marriage including infidelity. They head up to the Hood Canal to camp at a cabin for Memorial Day weekend. While out on the boat with his daughter Aubrey, his wife Sophie screams. He looks to shore to see a man attacking her and abducting her. He cannot get to shore fast enough. She is gone. There is a witness. Is he credible?? Other couples were in their cabin but no one sees anything? Much to his surprise the cop who shows up is an old childhood friend, Lee. Can she trust her gut that Adam didn't do this to his wife? Can you trust anyone? His father in law is sure Adam killed her. SUCH a well written story. I loved that each chapter is the story told by a person in the story. Each chapter gets more and more twisted. Just when I thought I had it figured out, something else happens and I no longer know who did it. This is one of Gregg Olsen's finest books ever!!! Definitely a must read for all crime addicts!!!

The depths of evil right here!
Revisado: 03-03-19
Once again Olsen delivers with this high intensity story of Sharon Nelson told like only he can deliver. This is the worst story of greed and deception that I have ever read! I grew to despise her as the story progressed. It's so hard to believe that 1 woman could hypnotize so many men! The fact that this is a true story just goes to show the depths of evil there are in this world. Great book! *****

RIVITING!!! ONE OF GREGG OLSEN'S BEST WORKS EVER!
Revisado: 01-08-19
Living only miles from where this happened only added to the intrigue, but the story itself was amazing anyway! Nestled in a small town in Olalla, Washington, Dr. Linda Hazzard attemps to "cure" people with her fasting protocol. The spiral of events that unfold on that property builds up throughout the book. Greg makes you FEEL like you are right there with his writing style and all the details that he gives. This is one book that every True Crime enthusiast needs to read! BRAVO GREGG OLSEN!!!! I have read this particular book twice and then listened to it on Audible! Thank you for sharing your true gift with the world!

Revisado: 08-17-18
I swear every time I read a Greg Olsen book, I think it's the best he's ever done. he didn't let me down with this one! poor Nicole with her tortured past! the nasty sibling battle continues in this sequel. I have to say I did not see things ending the way they did, although I was definitely pleased with the ending! I am definitely reading this one again!

Having followed Kendall Stark in the first book, you get to love her and birdie Waterman. living here in the Puget Northwest, I can actually visualize the places described in the book and it sucks you right in and you feel like you're apart of the book and the people. this wasn't just another day for Kitsap County coroner that's for sure!
