American radiologist Peter Ross just wanted a vacation. But when he meets the beautiful Angela Locke on a Spanish beach, he soon finds himself caught in a murderous crossfire between rival gangs seeking a precious artifact. Story was okay but performance grated.
Revisado: 04-02-21
One of the early Crichton novels, and was good enough until the last few chapters which were a bit less thrilling. All in all, a fair enough effort.
What really annoyed me was the reader’s mashup accents- in particular the ‘professor’ who variously sounded like an east ender and an Oxford don...Bertie Wooster mixed with Michael Caine.

Hear it before you see the film! The wedding celebration for Will Riker and Deanna Troi is interrupted when Captain Picard and crew are called to Romulus for an emergency diplomatic mission. They face a threat that could lead to the destruction of the planet Earth, and Picard comes face to face with a man who may prove to be his most dangerous adversary yet...and a surprisingly personal nemesis.

Very entertaining audiobook
Revisado: 09-16-18
I have to hand it to Boyd Gaines, he made this book extra special with his excellent voice rendering of most of the cast, in particular Captain Picard and his ‘evil clone’. Though he was not quite able to replicate the rich baritone of Worf, he was very good with everyone else and I might add, has a pleasing tenor singing voice for Data’s rendition of ‘Blue Skies’.
Very good incidental music and sounds as well, not too intrusive.
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.

No gap between stories!
Revisado: 05-08-18
Like other reviewers before me, I was annoyed by the lack of any appreciable gap or breathing space between the stories in this anthology.
Other than that, Martin Jarvis does a fine job of reading and portraying the various characters in this well loved selection of what I feel is the best of Wodehouse, namely the Blandings stories.
If a little more of a pause between stories was inserted, this would be a five star effort all around.
