I’m on Chapter 7 where Nina is destroying the house looking for her PTA notes and that’s when I stopped. Who acts like this? Why would you destroy your house and throw food from the refrigerator making a huge mess and why on earth would your noted be hiding in the food? This lady is obviously nuts and I just can’t take it.

Don’t like when authors trick me

Spoiler alert! I think it’s cheating when an author makes you believe there is only one person telling the story but at the end you find out it’s actually 2 different people telling the story. This also made some of the book hard to listen to because you think it’s this one person being abused by her husband but no, it’s actually this other person who you had no idea even existed. And there’s a lot of side stories going on in this book that I felt was unnecessary.

Wasn’t for me

The story was a bit ridiculous with her “hallucinations“ and seemed to drag on a bit much. Several parts were just stupid where you’ll think what the heck is she is doing: more than one occasion she tells herself she should run from him and the next scene she’s getting back in the car with him. Occasionally the narrator would take these very audible, deep breaths that were distracting, but I did like her voice. I would not recommend this book to my friends.
