Historia
My name's Griz. I've never been to school, I've never had friends, and in my whole life I've not met enough people to play a game of football. My parents told me how crowded the world used to be, before all the people went away. But we were never lonely on our remote island. We had each other and our dogs. Then the thief came.

Historia
In 48 hours, the Earth will be hit by a coronal mass ejection (CME) from the sun, a "Carrington Event" that has the power to shut down and possibly destroy the world's electrical infrastructure. To try and prevent permanent damage, everything goes dark prior to the hit: Global communications are shut down; hospital emergency generators are disconnected; the entire internet, media broadcasting, and cell phone systems are turned off. Will the world's population successfully defend itself in the wake of the CME, or will mass panic lead to the breakdown of society as we know it?

Revisado: 10-04-18
If I have to hear the word "crescendo" one more time... The stories must have been written by kids. the second books author had no idea what a thesaurus was for.
The reader of the first book doesn't understand the cadence of the English language. Giving emphasis where none belongs and pausing as though it is the end of the sentience and then the sentence picks up again in the middle. It was very distracting. I listened because it was a cheap 40 hours of mediocre entertainment. I thought about returning this book multiple times, however I am stubborn and have a hard time letting ANY story go without getting to the end.
I found nothing really redeeming or useful in these books.
With a little research, MAYBE they could have at least made the scenarios in this book more realistic. Medical issues were just one thing that made me think WTF, really, they survived that?
The constant interpersonal drama of the first book was SOOOO obnoxious and unnecessary.
Anyway, I cannot recommend these books.

Keeps you listening
Revisado: 10-19-16
Would you listen to Blood Song again? Why?
Maybe, I have so many new books to listen too, but if those run out, I would reach for this again.
What three words best describe Steven Brand’s performance?
I can't think of 3 words without sounding harsh. I enjoyed Brand's voice well enough, and his reading cadence, but he doesn't do different voices, so at times I found it difficult to follow who was talking. Everyone once in a while he threw in a different accent, but that was, I think, the only other accent he could do.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Laughed at a few parts. :) But its hard to make me laugh out loud at a book.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed the writing in this one. It was descriptive enough, and the pace was lovely. I am looking forward to the next two books.

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr. Caldwell calls her "our little genius". Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh. Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up.

Most Well Written "Zombie" Book Ever
Revisado: 10-07-16
What did you like best about this story?
Melanie's wonder at the world. Also this story is amazing well written and engaging. I love this writing style that has such an excellent and expressive use of metaphor and discription so that you can really feel like you are in it.
What about Finty Williams’s performance did you like?
Just the right amount of emotion and inflection. Her reading NEVER distracted from the story, but only added to it.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The moment in the cell when whe Mrs. Justenew releases Melanie. Also, when Melanie sees the other kids and discribes how that felt to her.
Any additional comments?
I loved the book. It has become easily one of my favorites.

get tired of reading the same thing
Revisado: 10-07-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, because it takes to many books to tell the story of one book.
Have you listened to any of Bronson Pinchot’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Bronson Pinchot is an excellent reader.
Could you see Extinction Age being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I could see a movie out of these books provided they combine them all into one movie. Not enough story to carry more than 2-3 hours viewing.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the first couple of books, but by the third one the storyline was just too repetitive and getting more outlandish with their rescues and escapes from the inescapable. I have 2 books left and I have no desire to read them. Especially now that I found out there is yet another one coming. Not worth wasting my money. I wish these writers and publishers would put out more entertaining short series, instead of trying to milk every penny out of us with these insanely long and much less fulfilling book series.

In the more shadowy corners of the world, frequented by angels and demons and everything in between, Laytham Ballard is a legend. It's said he raised the dead at the age of 10, stole the Philosopher's Stone in Vegas back in 1999, and survived the bloodsucking kiss of the Mosquito Queen. Wise in the hidden ways of the night, he's also a cynical bastard who stopped thinking of himself as the good guy a long time ago.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Entertaining read!
Revisado: 08-13-15
Would you listen to 14 again? Why?
Maybe... but I have alot of things to get through.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I don't think I can choose! I love just about all the characters, but Veek and Nate are probably best with Zeela taking a close second. I love all Zeela's pop culture references. She fits my personality (just not the exhibitionism).
What about Ray Porter’s performance did you like?
He did a great job with the voices. it is so hard for a man to portray the female voices but he did it. And he had enough emotion and inflection in the right places.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Without giving to much away... someone dies and you can feel the shock of the characters.
Any additional comments?
This was a really entertaining read that I purchased on a whim. The mystery isn't anything you might think.
