Historia
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

Great performance
Revisado: 01-12-25
A very different listen. The whole cast and sound effects were a lot- I had to sit down and really listen to focus on the story. Once I figured that out I became immersed and loved it. The ending was startling and I wish things were explained more, but sometimes leaving things unknown gets you thinking. I definitely recommend with the caveat that you have to really listen and focus on the story. This isn’t one to listen to while multitasking.

Historia
Ellie Briar is the first non-witch to be born into her family for generations. The Briar family of witches run the town of Silverton, caring for its inhabitants with their skills and magic. In the usual scheme of things, they would be burnt for their sorcery, but the church has given them dispensation in return for their protection of the borders of the Darklands, where the much-feared Leech Lords hold sway.

Perfection
Revisado: 12-14-24
The universe that A.G. Slatter has created with All the Murmuring Bones, The Path of Thorns, and The Briar Book of the Dead is absolute perfection. These books are the best reads I’ve had in a long time. Strong female leads, witchcraft, a little murder, and great narration.

Heralded as an instant classic of fantasy literature, Maguire has written a wonderfully imaginative retelling of The Wizard of Oz told from the Wicked Witch's point of view. More than just a fairy tale for adults, Wicked is a meditation on the nature of good and evil.

Historia
Jonathan Evison’s Small World is an epic novel for now. Set against such iconic backdrops as the California gold rush, the development of the transcontinental railroad, and a speeding train of modern-day strangers forced together by fate, it is a grand entertainment that asks big questions. The characters of Small World connect in the most intriguing and meaningful ways, winning, breaking, and winning our hearts again.

Very well written and moving, and bittersweet at times. I found myself wishing that the story hadn’t ended yet.

Possibly even better than the first book in the series. I am blown away by the storytelling, the narration, everything. I would give this series 10 stars if possible. Cannot wait for the next book.

Historia
Even as a girl Morgan has always been wild, like the seas which batter the cliffs beneath her home, Tintagel Castle. But she has always been safe, too. Then one day her father is called away to a war from which he does not return. In his place comes the High King, Uther Pendragon, with the sorcerer Merlin lurking in his wake. Uther claims Morgan’s mother, the Lady Igraine as his queen.
