This well researched and well told story about an often written about subject brings new facts and stories. I am anxious to read the second part of Mr Legevall’s work. Good narration that added to the written text.

Great insight into a franchise rich with history.

What did you like best about this story?

The individual players perspectives on themselves and each other that brought the story to life. The franchise history of the Dodgers had so many interesting personalities prior to the cast of the boys of summer players. Names like Kirby Higbe, Van Lingo Mungo, and Leo Durocher all came to life for me during the book. Even names that I thought I knew were given a deeper look. I was not aware that Jackie Robinson did not get along with Walter O'Malley or manager Walter Alston or that Duke Snider was a sullen, perfectionist that was both adored and chided by the Dodgers fans.

A great book for anyone who loves baseball history and likes it from the players perspective.

Great look back into 19th Century America.

What made the experience of listening to The President and the Assassin the most enjoyable?

Learning about a period in history I was not as familiar with.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The President and the Assassin?

The cause and consequence of the Spanish American War on the shaping of the United States as a world power as the 20th century began. Also the role that the anarchists played in society at the time and their influence on the labor unions that would become more prevalent in the 1920's and 1930's.

Which scene was your favorite?

How William McKinley did not overact the sinking of the USS Main and his more global view of America's involvement not only in the battle in Cuba but our military involvement in the Pacific.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It was sad to read about how the assassin who in so many ways was delusional and insignificant played such a vital role in shaping the history of the United States for the rest of the 20th century.

This was a very enjoyable listen.

Would you consider the audio edition of A. Lincoln to be better than the print version?

Only listened to the audio version.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A. Lincoln?

I enjoyed the background given between Lincoln and his generals during the civil war. Also Mr. White does a great job giving you insight into the Presidents reasoning and thought process and how he came to decisions.

What does Bill Weideman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Yes, the different voices used when quoting a subject in the book was done very well.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Lincoln's letter to the parents of a young soldier who was killed early in the Civil War.

Well worth the long amount of time to listen to the book.
