It was a great story, parts were hilarious loved it. Before the HEA it was super heartbreaking almost too sad….or maybe it was my mood. You will fall in love with all the characters main ones and supporting ones.

He's the last man I should've picked for a one night stand. See that guy over there? The insanely tall, broad-shouldered, dark-haired, scowling, “I don’t drink coffee” suit? Surprise! He’s the new owner of my family’s mountain café.

Historia
Despite his warriors' lineage, Erroh would rather waste his potential stumbling alone from one tavern to the next, drinking and gambling. Fate, however, has greater plans for him. After decades of peace, a great war draws near, and though he doesn't know it, he is standing in the way of the first wave. What is more, and very much to his dismay, he's about to find out he's not entirely alone either. But Erroh has a plan, a simple plan.

Great book!! Don’t be detracted by description!! Not to be missed!
Revisado: 03-30-20
I have not enjoyed a book this much in a long long time. It took me through a gamut of sensations one of them was sleeplessness because I had to listen another was total goosebumps everywhere even on the top of my head and those are painful ones.
Don’t let the dust cover description that this is a coming of age story sway you....is so well written I think you’ll be very pleased!

Moving on......
Revisado: 05-23-19
I’ve tried to finish this book it’s been in my library for YEARS, I have downloaded it a half a dozen times and just could not engage enough with the characters to get to the halfway point of the book. The writing is good the narration is great it’s just the engagement with this story could not happen for me.

Historia
We all have inner demons. We fight them all the time. Some of us achieve inner peace by coming to terms with them. But how do you come to terms with inner demons that tear free and become outer demons? Eric has been a vampire for nearly a century, and his demons are more than metaphors. While they controlled him, he was the Demon King. Now he has to avoid the monsters in his own mind, as well as angry nobles, fanatical religions, assassins, magi, other vampires, criminal organizations, and more.

I really really really want to read/listen to the next book!!
Revisado: 03-16-17
I enjoyed the main character Eric he was wonderful. His humor was funny his naïveté is heart wrenching because of the situation as it gets him into but he is extremely likable.
Towards the end of this book I just thought this story is juggling at such a rapid rate keeps you riveted. It's a zip line with curves and twists. I hope the next book comes out soon!!!!

Eric didn't ask to be a vampire. In fact he didn't even believe in them. Biting your own tongue with your fangs does a lot of convincing. Even so, being a part-time undead isn't as easy as you might think. It can let you hold down a day job, true, but sometimes the night "life" can be more than a little difficult, what with those bloodthirsty urges and predatory instincts kicking in.

Great story, one of the best in a very long time!
Revisado: 03-01-17
I started this book 3 different times and almost returned it but looking at everybody's reviews again and the high marks they gave convinced me to give it more time to develop the storyline. I pushed through and I am very glad that I did. This story is going to be one of my all-time favorites I can't wait to listen to the next book. If you start out like I did give it a chance the story turns a corner and gets absolutely great. 5+ stars.

Historia
Neal Stephenson is a blazing new force on the sci-fi scene. With the groundbreaking cyberpunk novel Snow Crash, he has "vaulted onto the literary stage." It weaves virtual reality, Sumerian myth, and just about everything in between with a cool, hip cybersensibility - in short, it is the gigathriller of the information age.

Waited too long to return this book
Revisado: 02-28-16
Would you try another book from Neal Stephenson and/or Jonathan Davis?
Yes l would I actually have his other book and loved it but I tried to listen to this book twice and just couldn't get through it. I had very high hopes for it, I wanted to love it so many other people did. I just won't do it to myself anymore. Don't take this review as perfect you can try the book and return it if you don't like it and don't wait too long!
Has Snow Crash turned you off from other books in this genre?
No it is my favorite genre and seldom find books that I don't like. I tried it didn't work for me.
Which scene was your favorite?
Well if you read this far you can guess none.

Jake Sullivan is a licensed private eye with a seriously hardboiled attitude. He also possesses raw magical talent and the ability to make objects in his vicinity light as a feather or as heavy as depleted uranium, all with a magical thought. It's no wonder the G-men turn to Jake when they need someoneto go after a suspected killer who has been knocking off banks in a magic-enhanced crime spree.

The story concept is interesting I liked this book
Revisado: 04-27-13
Would you try another book from Larry Correia and/or Bronson Pinchot?
Before I read this book I finished reading the Monster Hunter International Series (or as much as of it that is written) it was great by the way. Back to Grimnoir Chronicals, I purchased this book looking for another series as engaging as MHI.
The story line and character development were good. The book is definitely entertaining, I would recommend it but save your credits and try to purchase it when they have a sale. For me it just wasn't one of those books I couldn't put down.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The most interesting aspect of the story are the "powers" that the characters exhibit, this was something that was new for me.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator was good however the voice he chose for the main character (Sullivan) was a slow witted high sounding drawl that I found annoying. I really liked this character, knew he was intelligent but the voice took away from the character.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
I would have to see the previews to see if it went cartoonish or serious.
