I nearly stopped listening after the first few hours because the story was slow and repetitive with characters that weren't very dimensional. I thought another Kristin Hannah book, The Nightingale, was incredible so by comparison this story was disappointing. That is, until the mother began telling her story. The author has a true gift for emotional detail that aligns perfectly with the horrors of war. I loved Susan Ericksen's brilliant narration and her accents were believable and enchanting. I won't mention how many tissues I went through but the book turned out to be intensely moving and I'm so glad I stuck with it.

Glad I bought this title. It took a bit for me to engage in the story but then it became more entertaining than I expected. Some passages were deeply touching or absurdly funny - even in the same scene. The narrator was spot on, perfect for the material. Sometimes it got a little too self-absorbed but I still cheered the author on in her quest for true love.

This was an enjoyable listen for me while working on a sewing project. The narrator had a beautiful Italian accent that was a pleasure to listen to and I wished she had used it more in the dialogue. The characters were moderately interesting but I would've liked more local description other than the politics of the time. Even so, as a quilter it was fun to listen to the sewing details in the story while I worked. I recommended it to my elderly mother who doesn't care for adult content in her audiobooks.

I couldn’t stop listening from the beginning. The story is beautifully crafted, dropping little jewels of interest along the way that come together in the telling. The author writes like a poet and the narrator is stellar. I felt wrung out by the end but in the best way.

I'm a fan of Michael Newton's Journey books and wasn't expecting this one to measure up but it was excellent. It's even more amazing that it was written before similar books on past lives and reincarnation were available, so the information they received through hypnosis of a friend was shockingly new at the time. To nitpick, the acoustics aren't perfect and the narrator's accents are a little sketchy but her inflections created real people for me. The story was enthralling and so was the ending. I can't wait to read more from Dolores Cannon.
If you are interested in past lives and beyond-our-world perspective, get this book.

This book surprised me with its wealth of useful information. I'm a level 2 reiki practitioner and found many interesting details I wasn't aware of before. There's always more to learn on the healing path! I really like the conversational style of writing and the narrator was good. I recommend this book to anyone who's curious about self-healing and who generally just wants to feel better, even if you don't intend to practice on others. Doing inner work such as this is the first step to healing our communities and our planet so it's especially timely right now.

I'm a fan of Georgia O'Keefe and this hooked me right away with elegant description and excellent narration. It captures some of the magical feel of northern New Mexico and what draws artists and other people here. My only criticism is that it was too short. It left me wanting much more!

Sci Fi's not my usual genre but the plot was engaging, unexpected and fun and the narrator's voice was perfect for the edginess of the main character. It was heavy on the tech stuff but still understandable in context. I love that for all the war and weaponry it's basically a story about a girl and her cats!

This is the perfect book to begin to develop a dream yoga practice which is a new realm for me. I've always been interested in dreams and write down my significant ones but this guide takes it to another level. I love how the information is presented in a balanced combination of science, Buddhist practice and interesting anecdotes. It's both fascinating and fun! It's read by the author who's excitement for the subject is so engaging. I experienced two lucid dreams within a week of listening and following the prompts. I would've preferred his dreams to be in the chapters instead of in an index at the end but still love the book.

The first part of the story seemed a little melodramatic to me but a few chapters in I was hooked. The narrator struck a good balance between neutrality and emotion and did accents well. I loved how the story eventually made use of details mentioned earlier. If you are interested in any kind of sewing (like I am) you would appreciate the lovely details about embroidery. I would've liked Anne and Miriam to show more personality to make them more dimensional, yet still found myself affected by them. The ending is super satisfying and I'm glad I invested time in this book.
