Historia
In the 1990s, a “purity industry” emerged out of the white evangelical Christian culture. Purity rings, purity pledges, and purity balls came with a dangerous message: girls are potential sexual “stumbling blocks” for boys and men, and any expression of a girl’s sexuality could reflect the corruption of her character. This message traumatized many girls - resulting in anxiety, fear, and experiences that mimicked the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder - and trapped them in a cycle of shame.

Historia
For the first time, Hillary Rodham Clinton reveals what she was thinking and feeling during one of the most controversial and unpredictable presidential elections in history. Now free from the constraints of running, Hillary takes you inside the intense personal experience of becoming the first woman nominated for president by a major party in an election marked by rage, sexism, exhilarating highs and infuriating lows, stranger-than-fiction twists, Russian interference, and an opponent who broke all the rules. This is her most personal memoir yet.

The Queen Lost Her Crown
Revisado: 11-14-17
First of all, let's just address how LONG this book is...it's a doozy. It's full of the same political rhetoric we heard during the election so brace yourselves for some ddrrryyy long explanations about what went wrong.
The beginning of the story reminded me of why she wasn't elected. She sounds pompous, elitist, and appalled that America would vote for anyone other than her. Her campaign was run in a way where she assumed she was going to win (which she later references in the book).
The best part of the book is when she talks about how difficult it is to be a woman in politics. It's a man's club and she has run into opposition for trying to step in. Her strides and accomplishments in this aspect should not be taken lightly. She has helped pave the way for many to come after her, as she has followed those who came before.
She is a champion - but not a champion for all. Her personal aspirations have brought her to making history. This should be celebrated (even if you think she cheated to get there). Not every girl aspires to be her, not every woman wants to claim her as a role model. Hillary tries to use this book to explain why all women and girls SHOULD claim her as a role model.
Overall, it felt as though Hillary assumes she knows all the answers to America's problems, and only she can fix them. This is incredibly dangerous as she views the Democrat party as the party of enlightenment and truth - not that Republicans are any better (leading to the issue of polarization). So no wonder she wanted to be the leader of that power. Unfortunately that leaves much of the population behind, feeling uncared for (which she also addresses). I agree with her when she says that Americans wanted to vent and rant about the problems they feel like they have endured and she moved too quickly to trying to solve those problems. She didn't listen to the crying public whether she agreed with them or not - she only wanted to hear from those who would lift her up and exalt her seemingly elitist lifestyle and ideals.
I feel like I got to know her more - her intentions, her beliefs, and her lifestyle. But in the end, it still feels like she's complaining that the rest of America isn't as enlightened as her...and if they were, she would be sitting in the oval office as the first woman president.

Historia
Despite constant efforts to declutter your home, do papers still accumulate like snowdrifts and clothes pile up like a tangled mess of noodles?Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo takes tidying to a whole new level, promising that if you properly simplify and organize your home once, you'll never have to do it again. Most methods advocate a room-by-room or little-by-little approach, which doom you to pick away at your piles of stuff forever.

Life-Changing
Revisado: 11-14-17
I love this idea of everything having its purpose. Once something is used up, its purpose changes - being aware of those changes is key to continually be changing your life and keeping up with tidying up. Understanding importance of material things and desires will help you live a better life as you become more aware of your surroundings. Love this book.

Historia
F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic American novel of the Roaring Twenties is beloved by generations of readers and stands as his crowning work. This new audio edition, authorized by the Fitzgerald estate, is narrated by Oscar-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain). Gyllenhaal's performance is a faithful delivery in the voice of Nick Carraway, the Midwesterner turned New York bond salesman, who rents a small house next door to the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby....

Jake Gyllenhaal can't do voices
Revisado: 08-23-16
It was a little disappointing listening to the voices blur together while also blurring into the narration. I would say he needs a bit more practice in voice acting, and maybe hire voice actors to read these books!
Other than that, the story is amazing!
