This is well worth your time. The author succesfully applied the rules for classic mystery writing. The characters have depth and personality also.

Historia
When Miles Hammond is invited to a meeting of the Murder Club in London, he is met instead with just two other guests and is treated to a strange tale of an impossible crime in France years before; the murder of a man on a tower with only one staircase, under watch at the time at which the murder took place. With theories of levitating vampires abounding, the story comes home to Miles when he realises that the librarian he has just hired for his home is none other than Fay Seton, a woman at the heart of this bizarre and unsolved past murder.

Historia
Farmer Giles of Ham did not look like a hero. He was fat and red-bearded and enjoyed a slow, comfortable life. Then one day a rather deaf and short-sighted giant blundered on to his land. More by luck than skill, Farmer Giles managed to scare him away. The people of the village cheered: Farmer Giles was a hero. His reputation spread far and wide across the kingdom. So it was natural that when the dragon Chrysophylax visited the area it was Farmer Giles who was expected to do battle with it!

Historia
When the police arrive at the holiday bungalow of the haughty Justice Ireton to find a man killed by gunshot and the high court judge brandishing a pistol, the case seems as straightforward as it is scandalous. Yet, with the incongruous assemblage of physical evidence, the judge's denial of any participation in the crime and the recent events of his daughter's love life combined, the deceptively simple case is soon steeped in complexity. At a loss in the bizarre circumstances, the local force calls in the larger-than-life sleuth Dr Gideon Fell.

Less of a novel than an outline of one.
Revisado: 02-28-22
Less of a novel than an outline of one. Large sections are merely the narrator describing the scene and feelings of characters without actually having those characters speak for themselves. Rarely does the reader get to learn for themself the personalities of a character, because characters rarely get to speak.

Jack Reacher was alone, the way he liked it, soaking up the hot, electric New York City night, watching a man cross the street to a parked Mercedes and drive it away. The car contained one million dollars in ransom money because Edward Lane, the man who paid it, would do anything to get his family back.

Back in print in an all-new edition is the engaging and illuminating chronicle of the life of the "Queen of Mystery". Fans of Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple and readers of John Curran’s fascinating biographies Agatha Christie’s Secret Notebooks and Murder in the Making will be spellbound by the compelling, authoritative account of one of the world’s most influential and fascinating novelists, told in her own words and inimitable style - and here in her own voice. Agatha Christie Speaks of her Career
Revisado: 08-09-20
The audio quality of this recording is poor but well worth the listen. There is an offensive term used repeatedly due to the original title of "And Then There Were None" which underwent two title changes, and I'd only known of one because of the movie title in the 60's. It was also interesting to learn that Christie had devised both endings of the movies.

When someone makes a present of a fer-de-lance - the dreaded snake - to Nero Wolfe, Archie Goodwin knows he's close to solving two apparently unrelated murders. As for Wolfe, he's playing snake charmer in a case more deadly than a cobra and whistling a seductive tune he hopes will catch a killer with poison in his heart.

Early Nero and Archie 1st Novel
Revisado: 06-29-20
This story has many examples of an early draft version of Nero Wolfe and Archie Goodwin. I found it interesting to see how much Rex Stout had developed the characters into the beloved ones in his following books.
The story was excellent and worth the inclusion in Audible, though the recording is of the Books on Tape release with all the "turn the cassette over..." dialog. Perhaps they will edit it at some point but still it is worth purchasing.
