Another Winner
Revisado: 02-23-25
Not the story I expected based on the title but a really really great story. Iain Rob Wright's characters are relatable and realistic. He adds small touches of humor into his books, which i appreciate. This story was a nail biter for sure! Am I mad at the ending? YEP! But only because it made me sad. Aubrey Parsons did another fantastic job at narration.

Historia
In August 2015, Limerick man Jason Corbett was murdered by his wife, Molly Martens, and her father, ex-FBI agent Tom Martens, in the bedroom of their luxury North Carolina home. He had been savagely beaten to death with a baseball bat and brick while his children slept nearby. For his sister, Tracey Corbett-Lynch, and the rest of his family in Ireland, it was just the beginning of the nightmare that would involve a custody battle, an online hate campaign, and, ultimately, the gripping trial that would lead to her conviction.

This Narrator!
Revisado: 05-05-24
I listened to the entire book because I was interested in this case. However, it was painful because the narrator did an abysmal job. She seemed to take on a "spoof" voice. She sounded like Moira Rose from Schitts Creek. The way she said "chessssst" and "Augusssst" grated on me every time. if I were the Corbett family, I would be angry at this woman for trying to make a mockery of their brother's death and murder trial. Honestly, shame on you, Mary Sarah.

Repetitive and Needlessly Cryptic
Revisado: 09-15-23
I really wanted to like this since it was highly recommended. I hated it. I rolled my eyes so many times, I thought they'd stick. The same things kept being said over and over just in different ways. The entire story, beginning, middle, and end, could have fit into an hour, at most. Yet there were many unanswered questions, weird motivations, plain stupid plot twists. Save your money/credit. I wish I would have

A remarkable collection of stories, Bad Dirt is filled with the vivid characters for which Annie Proulx has become known. In every story in this book, Proulx displays her wit and her knowledge of the West, of history, and, most of all, of characters who must use sheer will and courage to make it in tough territory.

Who Came Up With These Names?!
Revisado: 08-22-23
Honestly, the story could be good, but I had to stop listening to it in less than an hour. The names given to the characters and places are ridiculous. they were so cringe-worthy, I winced when being introduced to a new character. I rolled my eyes so much that I was afraid they'd stick. Even the narrator sounded uncomfortable reading the Ultra silly names. Orion Horncrackl? Really?

Wholesome and Whimsical

I loved this book! Admittedly, I caught some blatant thievery from Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter, but I didn't care. it's was a wholesome, cute, and enchanting story

Just OK
Revisado: 02-05-23
I love everything IRW publishes. There's never a "bad" book, in my opinion. The potential to be great was there, but it fell a bit flat for me. I feel like the characters were unrelatable with the premise far-fetched. It's worth the credit, but I won't listen to it twice.

This might be my new favorite SK. It had adventure, magic, love and loss. It whispered of the Gunslinger series, The Talisman and Eyes of the Dragon. If you're looking for an all around great listen, this is it.

Horrible Narrator
Revisado: 07-13-22
I loved the story, it was a very interesting concept. The narrator was so ridiculous. She made my scalp prickle from embarrassment for her. She reminded me of my teacher reading voice when reading a "spooky" story to children. Please get a different job, this isn't your calling, Sweetie.
