Historia
Komarr could be a garden with 1,000 more years' work, or an uninhabitable wasteland if the terraforming fails. Now, the solar mirror vital to the terraforming of the conquered planet has been shattered by a ship hurtling off course. The emperor of Barrayar sends his newest imperial auditor, Lord Miles Vorkosigan, to find out why.

Miles begins the next phase of his life
Revisado: 08-27-20
Komarr is a great follow up the Memory as a more mature Miles Vorkosigan begins the next stage of his life. When he and another Imperial Auditor investigate an incident that damages the solar mirror that provides energy to the domed planet Miles finds himself experiencing unexpected feelings towards a new acquaintance. In Komarr, Bujold does an excellent job of depicting a woman who has tried to play by all the rules, only to find that she is trapped by the very traditions she chose to honor.

Historia
Three years have passed since the widowed Dowager Royina Ista found release from the curse of madness that kept her imprisoned in her family's castle of Valenda. Her newfound freedom is costly, bittersweet with memories, regrets, and guilty secrets, for she knows the truth of what brought her land to the brink of destruction. And now the road, escape, beckons...A simple pilgrimage, perhaps. Quite fitting for the Dowager Royina of Chalion.

Strong follow up to Curse of Chalion
Revisado: 06-03-20
When I was looking for other books by Bujold, I discovered The Curse of Chalion and Palidin of Souls. While both of these books are vastly different from the Vorkosigan books, neither disappoints. In this book, mad Ista, who has recovered from the curse, discovers that the gods are not yet done with her. Great world building.

Historia
Critics, readers, and listeners loved Lisa Scottoline's first collection of true-life stories, which only encouraged her—now she's back with these all-new, exciting adventures. She's farther down the road now, and the scenery has changed—ex-husbands Thing One and Thing Two are in her rear-view mirror, daughter Francesca has moved into an apartment, and Lisa's finding the silver lining in her empty nest, which has lots more room for her shoes. And some things have stayed the same.
