Fast past story. This is the warm up book and it gives you a feel for plot and movement. I very entertaining read. I’m planning to read the rest of the series.

A victim of its own statements and philosophy. This book was written, pre-Covid, and obviously so.

The author made some good points, particularly about living below your means, in order to live longer, not working life. Most adults today have not experienced the traumas that their parents and grandparents experienced so we live in a very different world. And the author points these out and explains the difference today in the past.

Medical perspective in the current world

I like the way Attia presented medicine as in a second and third stage. The power of our internal critic is well illustrated in this work. The perspective on prevention as the best way to stay healthy is strongly presented.
He some times retells parts of the story but it appears that those are the things he believes to be most important. I am in full agreement that we must work diligently to improve the mental health of our society and gives a perspective of the needed approach. An excellent read.

Butcher reads

As always Butcher tells a good story. The characters are familiar as is tue story. I enjoyed hearing his voice but I hope he focuses on writing in the future. I look forward to reading his future work.

Definitely targeted to a young audience

A quick two hour listen. Fun and easy.The characters are young and inexperienced to solve the worlds problems. Just like normal young people today think they can without any experience.

Jim Butcher is always worth the read

Characters learn and grow through their experiences. The world is intricate and interesting with depth left to develop.
Young people make choices and work with and learn from the experienced. A well planned attack to destroy the strength of the Albion’s by their foes a much deeper plan become obvious.

Relevant thinking for today

This is a classic story of human nature played out against a long time period. The ruthless, altruistic and benign actions of humans is shown clearly with the separation from current time to allow a bit of perspective. The Foundation moves toward their long term goals with the injection of powerful individuals that keep the empire moving forward to reformation. A touch dated but absolutely addressing todays political activities.

Realistic characters and action

The story is appropriately convoluted and the actions moves smoothly. Not a yawner with an easy to see climax. The writing is crisp and enjoyable.

Adding to the myths of society’s beginnings

The story building has all the elements of mythic tragedy. While the gods play their part the people fulfill the destiny’s. Magda and Desdemoda start this story and Bears fulfills his destiny while meeting the women who makes him complete. Well told story.
