Historia
Britt-Marie can't stand mess. She eats dinner at precisely the right time and starts her day at six in the morning because only lunatics wake up later than that. And she is not passive-aggressive. Not in the least. It's just that sometimes people interpret her helpful suggestions as criticisms, which is certainly not her intention. But at 63, Britt-Marie has had enough. She finally walks out on her loveless 40-year marriage and finds a job in the only place she can: Borg, a small, derelict town devastated by the financial crisis.

I love everything about Britt-Marie! She is witty and has OCD lol. I really thought that Backman did an amazing job at making us understand her and see things the way that she does. It was such simply gorgeous and I try to recommend this book to everyone.

Historia
At the age of 22, Jennifer Worth left her comfortable home to move into a convent and become a midwife in postwar London’s East End slums. The colorful characters she met while delivering babies all over London - from the plucky, warm-hearted nuns with whom she lived to the woman with 24 children who couldn't speak English to the prostitutes and dockers of the city’s seedier side - illuminate a fascinating time in history.

These midwifes are amazing!
Revisado: 11-16-17
I heard about Call the midwife's from Netflix. I saw the first season and I was hooked. Then, to my surprise Audible had the full series. I was in heaven! You learn so much from how people used to give birth 60 years ago. Jennifer tells us stories that really stick with you. Some of them have made me cry and laugh out loud. This is one read I recommend and the show!

Lisa See has brilliantly illuminated the potent bonds of mother love, romantic love, and love of country. Fantastic Listen!
Revisado: 11-16-17
Lisa See did an amazing job at describing the era of the story. This is a continuation of "Shanghai Girls". The story is so powerful and the things that Joy goes through is outstanding and terrible. Lisa brings back May and Pearl and they both have through more hurdles. The bond of sisterhood is what grabbed my attention since I have sister too. Lisa see is amazing!

Historia
Levitt and co-author Stephen J. Dubner show that economics is, at root, the study of incentives: how people get what they want, or need, especially when other people want or need the same thing. In Freakonomics, they explore the hidden side of...well, everything. The inner working of a crack gang...the truth about real-estate agents...the secrets of the Klu Klux Klan. What unites all these stories is a belief that the modern world is even more intriguing than we think. All it takes is a new way of looking, and Freakonomics will redefine the way we view the modern world.

His erratic, controlling and sometimes frightening behaviour means that Catherine is increasingly isolated. Driven into the darkest corner of her world, and trusting no one, she plans a meticulous escape.
