Too many genres

I never connected with the characters or story. I just didn’t care about the characters in the book. The story lurched about and had too many confusing facets for me.

I had such high hopes....

I have been an Audible member for over a decade and love the service. I rarely write negative reviews, but felt I had to on this book. I spend a lot of time on a Mountain Bike and look for longer books because I get into the stories and they last over my summer training periods. I was so excited to see a book on the possible effects of the climate change played out from a decade ago into the future.

The pace of the book is glacial and agonizing and riddled with extended personal interactions that are meaningless to the story. After grinding through several chapters I found myself skipping forward a few minutes to get through another agonizingly boring of a chance meeting with a celebrity in a book store. I realized after several hours that I was dreading listening to another three hours on my ride and skipped forward to see if the later chapters were better. They were not.

The book is 40 hours, but it will seem a lot longer!

I found the science in the book fascinating and matches up with some of my own research. I suspect the government will behave exactly as the book predicts. Well written and Bronson Pinchot is a great narrator!!!

I really enjoyed Cop de Grace and have been a Firefly fan since the series on TV. James Anderson Foster does incredible narration and has all the voices down perfectly. I loved the story and only wish it had been longer. I also liked the second narrator and thought she did a great job.

I enjoy Steven Novella's grasp of science as it is, and just we he could see past his dogma. It will be interesting to see what he thinks in twenty years...
