love the Vesik series
Revisado: 10-12-17
this book series was recommended to me by a friend with similar tastes. Damien Vesik is not the usual Necromancer. He has an unusual array of friends and family. Vesik is based out of St Charles MO and Asher captures the vibe of the featured locales perfectly. if you love Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden and/or Shayne Silvers' Nate Temple odds are you'll love the world of Damien Vesik.

Historia
When Monster Hunter International's top hunter, Owen Zastava Pitt, was given a tip about some hunters who had gone missing in action, he didn't realize their rescue mission would snowball into the single biggest operation in MHI's history. Their men are being held prisoner in a horrific nightmare dimension, and the only way to reach them is through the radioactive ruins of a monster-infested war zone. As if that wasn't bad enough, it's also the home base of the powerful creature behind the devastating attacks on the Last Dragon and Copper Lake.

Sharing a beer with Death - one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse - really put a few things into perspective for this foul-mouthed billionaire wizard. Like finally strapping on the boots to propose to his girlfriend. But assassination contracts have a way of putting wedding plans on hold. Perhaps permanently. And with the entire wedding party on the bloodthirsty Grimm's hit-list, and his family fortune in jeopardy, Nate realizes they can't run and they can't hide.

Historia
The demon, known only as "Jakerbok", is a major force of evil then and now. He taunts the listener to "Burn this audiobook" throughout this satanically autobiographical monologue, for he has embedded his very self inside each word....as a long-dormant vehicle for the dark forces to finally conquer all things good and holy in this world.

Superheroes battle the living dead in this hilarious spoof on the comic book universe! The Undead Pool is a humorous and demented origin story of former mercenary Mace Murdock, who after being subjected to an experiment from the evil clown Zarathustra that leaves him with accelerated healing powers and the hunger for human brains, adopts the alter ego The Undead Pool.

how far would you go to get back the love of your life? If you said "I'd do anything" would that include (with no training) a commando raid against a vastly superior force? In the mountains? the Ural mountains? would you resort to necromancy? would you be able to remain true to yourself through all this? Buckle up, the ride gets bumpy from here.

the Dexter story that launched a franchise
Revisado: 09-06-15
The story is as enjoyable now as it was many years and many readings ago. the performance (reading) is a little flat.
even if you are a huge fan of the TV series there are surprises in store for you. although season one was based on this book there are some significant plot line changes for tv. from the second book on the books and tv show are completely independent stories.
so if you were wishing for more Dexter, but never read the books for fear it would be the same stories, dig in!

Historia
Homicide detective Bryan Clauser is losing his mind. How else to explain the dreams he keeps having - dreams that mirror, with impossible accuracy, the gruesome serial murders taking place all over San Francisco? How else to explain the feelings these dreams provoke in him - not disgust, not horror, but excitement? As Bryan and his longtime partner, Lawrence 'Pookie' Chang, investigate the murders, they learn that things are even stranger than they at first seem.

Scottt Sigler is at it again!
Revisado: 02-03-14
What made the experience of listening to Nocturnal: A Novel the most enjoyable?
I love the story and the memorable characters, Bryan, Pookie, Robin, and of course Mr Biznass.
What did you like best about this story?
The seamless blending of hard police science and proceedure with the supernatural horrors.
Which character – as performed by Phil Gigante – was your favorite?
Mr Biznass. It would be Pookie Chang, but I will forever hear Scott's version of pookie in my head when his lines are spoken.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Chief Zou's choice. 'nuff said
Any additional comments?
Would be a 5 star performance for Mr. Gigante, If I had never heard Scott's version of Pookie.
