Challenging and Friendly Mexican Spanish Program

Great beginner book for a strong foundation
Revisado: 07-26-20
This is a great starting point for beginners seeking to learn how to speak Mexican Spanish. It uses a variety of native speakers, repetition, and vocabulary lightening rounds to help you learn various verbs and words. I liked that he focused on core verbs that are most frequently used in conversations. He has the listeners practice creative sentence building activities to really understand how to conjugate and use the verbs in a variety of ways. You definitely won't be fluent by the end of this, and its a bit basic for intermediate to advance speakers but you will 100% learn a ton and have a super solid foundation to continue learning more Spanish. If you're traveling to Mexico and want to communicate on a basic level or ask basic questions this is a great start!

Great Audio book

It's short compared to most. The story is riviting, and the narrator does a great job with all of the characters. I read this in a hard copy and enjoyed listening to it again.

Historia
In August of 1914, the British ship Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months, Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world. Lansing describes how the men survived a 1,000-mile voyage in an open boat across the stormiest ocean on the globe and an overland trek through forbidding glaciers and mountains.

Good Story but Long Book
Revisado: 02-01-18
This is a very well written and well read story but it wasn't our favorite. It didn't meet our personal interest as much as we thought it would but that is just our personal preference. It is also extremely long! We listened to the entire story and were cheering the characters on as the entire incredible odds.

Incredible book with a greater reader
Revisado: 11-17-17
I've read this book in a hard copy but wanted to listen to it as a "refresher". The performance of this book greatly enhancers the experience. It's extremely well read and such a beautiful, enlightening book. I hope everyone reads this book (several times) and apply the practices of the four agreements.

Historia
We live in the age of speed. We strain to be more efficient, to cram more into each minute, each hour, each day. Since the Industrial Revolution shifted the world into high gear, the cult of speed has pushed us to a breaking point. Consider these facts: Americans on average spend 72 minutes of every day behind the wheel of a car, a typical business executive now loses 68 hours a year to being put on hold, and American adults currently devote on average a mere half hour per week to making love.

Good concept a bit drawn out
Revisado: 11-16-17
I love the concept of slowing down and appreciate the examples he gives on ways we can slow down in our lives to improve our enjoyment, fulfillment, and relationships. He provides facts and studies that support his theory of slowness. some of the examples (for example knitting) are a bit long and drawn out. I think his point would have easily been understood and relayed without a few pages of each chapter.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Good Book that focuses on importance
Revisado: 07-23-17
While the first half of the book seemed to focus on getting the reader excited it has a curse word in the title (he uses f*** at least once on every page), the second half of the book was much deeper and focused on the core of teaching of this text, stop giving a f*** about things that don't align with you or your values. I thought he did a great job breaking up this teaching into chapters that were relatable and had good examples. I would suggest this to a friend but it's unlikely I would read it again.
